Introducing The Next Person You Meet in Heaven
The Next Person You Meet in Heaven is a book by Mitch Albom. It is the sequel to Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven, a bestselling novel written 15 years ago. Albom's sequel continues the story of Annie and Eddie. In the first book, Annie was an eight-year-old girl whose life was saved by Eddie, a mechanic who was working at the amusement park when Annie showed up with her mother. A malfunctioning ride had a loose cart about to drop to the ground from two hundred feet above Annie. Eddie, a former war veteran rushed to push her out of the way, which saved her but killed Eddie. The previous novel tells the story of Eddie's experience as he meets people in the afterlife. Annie's left hand was severed and it took an operation to reattach it. She and Paulo go through the wedding rites and the celebration, after which
