About this ebook

Elizabeth Monroe, Liz, is pursuing an advanced degree in Fine Arts, and tries desperately to find a summer job in her field of study. The search is appearing more futile each day and is at her wits end.

Elizabeth's fortunes change for the better by two different women. Britt, an art store owner offers Liz a job in her store. The job comes at the eleventh hour and Liz couldn't be happier. What she didn't expect was that Britt would not only teach her the Art business but also mold her into an experienced lover of women.

The summer ends and so does the Art store job, and Liz is back on the street looking for a part time job. The jobs in the fine arts museum and the like are few and far between. Again Liz is driven to the edge afraid she will have to return home to live and give up her education.

Enter, Prudence, real estate broker and a veritable gateway to solving Liz's job difficulties. Armed with her work experience learned from Britt, Liz is able to demonstrate her skills as both and aspiring realtor but a seasoned lesbian lover.

    Part One

Sorry, the middle aged man with the really bad comb-over said, barely looking at me, nothing open right now.

I let out a short, sigh of exasperation and pondered what to do next. It was the summer before my first year of grad school at Xavier and I desperately needed a job. If I didn't start making money soon I would have to move out of my apartment and move back in with my parents. Nothing could be more depressing. After my years of independence in the Queen City, a girl acquires a taste for freedom. Being at my parent's beck and call 24/7 wasn't what I had in mind for a fun summer. Only by finding a position with good compensation could I escape such a dreary punishment.

My major at Xavier was Art History so I assumed I could easily get an acceptable position at Cincinnati's outstanding Fine Art Museum or even the Aronoff Center. I couldn't have been more wrong. Many of the positions were for volunteers. That meant no pay. All of the others required several years of experience or a Master's Degree. After visiting every Art Museum between I-75 and I-71, I had found nothing except several new coffee houses.

Excuse me! the bald man at the reference desk asked, now looking at me rather intently, Can I help you with anything else?

What could I tell him? That I felt like a worthless child and not like the independent woman I thought I had become?

No thank you, I answered softly, it's just so difficult finding a decent position in this city

Oh, excuse me! someone said from behind me, Did you say you were in need of employment? I turned around and looked at the woman who had just spoken. She had a wide smile on her face as she waited patiently for me to answer.

Yes, I replied, I definitely am. I'm a student at Xavier and am looking for something that will enable me to stay in the city until school starts again in the fall. I would prefer a job in the area of art.

Well, well, the woman said with a bit of spice to her words, I think I can help. If you are willing to do the work, that is. I own an art supply store on Walnut St., not too far from the Aronoff Center.

I became excited when she mentioned the Aronoff Center. It was my favorite Art Museum in Mid-West. The thought of being able to both work and have time to visit Aronoff more was exhilarating.

Really? I said coolly, keeping my emotions in check as I am prone to do, It sounds good so far. What would I be doing?

Well, she answered, the girl who keeps, that is, kept inventory just went on maternity leave and will be off the rest of the summer. I've been doing most of the extra work myself but am starting to fall behind. Exactly, that's why I am here now. I have an old friend who works here and was going to ask her if she needed a part time summer job.

Oh, I said, "part time. I'm really looking
