    Introducing The Case for Trump

HE CASE FOR TRUMP IS WRITTEN BY THE AWARD-WINNING HISTORIAN and professor of classics Victor Davis Hanson. It gives an account of the achievements of President Donald Trump and argues that he is a president like no other.

Hanson explains why Trump is unlike other American presidents in that he managed to win the presidency over traditional Republican politicians and a Democrat who had massive financial support, and without the support of the influential media. Trump's advantage, Hanson says, is his defense of the working class Americans who were scorned by the Democrat and Republican elites.

His flaw, according to Hanson, is his propensity for tweeting and quarreling, his use of vicious words and his lack of adherence to truth. He gives two scenarios on how Trump will end his presidency. One is a spectacular but unrecognized end that will make him an isolated man who won't be useful in the end. The other scenario is his single term presidency that will become an embarrassment to his supporters. Hanson writes in the book's preface the words uttered by Henry Kissinger about Trump. Kissinger said he thinks Trump is one of those people who sometimes surface in history in order to mark the closing of an era and make people face the political pretenses that need to be given up. In this sense, Trump is like Nixon, Hanson
