Movie Trivia
I am sure if you have children, you have seen the Shrek films which are about a beloved ogre, his wife, and their fairytale friends. What you may not know is who passed on the films before the final actor was cast as the starring role. Nicolas Cage passed on the role of Shrek because he said he didn’t want to play an ugly ogre. I can’t imagine Shrek as anyone else, but can we ponder for a second just what it would’ve sounded like?
When the Passion of The Christ came out, believe it or not, the actor Jim Caviezel was not the first person chosen for the role. The first choice was Macaulay Culkin.
We must suffer for our craft. It seems poor Jim Caviezel did. While filming, he carried a heavy cross and separated his shoulder. Also, he was struck by lightning and accidentally whipped on.
The movie Cars was the last feature film that Paul Newman was in. It was the highest grossing movie of his entire career.
Christian Bale might have saved Adam McKay from a heart attack. While shooting a scene for a movie, the director’s stomach felt very queasy. Christian let him know that it was one of the common ways to tell that you were having a heart attack. They called Adam McKay’s wife. Then she immediately called 911.
During the climax of the movie Avengers: Infinity War, Thor showed up on the battlefield. It wasn’t supposed to be him. Actually, it was supposed to be Captain America.
We never got to see Honey Best in both installments of The Incredibles movies. The creators thought she was funnier as a voice actor than as an actual character that we could see.
The soccer movie Bend It Like Beckham was a huge success. It was almost named something else. The creators of the movie thought that people didn’t know what the term bend
meant. Surprisingly, they also thought that fans wouldn’t know who Beckham was, though he was becoming a top player and his fame was on the rise.
If you have read the Princess Diaries books, then you know that Michael and Mia stayed together. The only reason they didn’t in the movies was that the actor that played Michael couldn’t play the role because of his bands’ touring schedule. Since he couldn’t appear in the film, they invented another storyline and new love interests for the princess.
When the movie Coyote Ugly came out, it seemed that every teenager had seen it. It might be a really interesting fact for you then that Jewel and Jessica Simpson had auditioned for the role, but it was Piper Perabo that beat them for the role.
Audiences thought that it really was Piper Perabo that sang in the movie. But the filmmakers decided to have Leann Rimes to overdub.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was a phenomenon. The books changed so many lives. So when fans learned it was going to be a movie, they bounced in their seats. A cool thing about the movie was that the person who played Bridget’s father was the real father of the actress Blake Lively.
When it came out, Save the Last Dance was the biggest dance movie around. Julia Stiles said that she believed that her dance scene in her movie 10 Things I Hate About You was what got her the role.
In Save the Last Dance, some of the actors that played teenagers were in their thirties. They weren’t teenagers at all.
While Zac Efron sang in The Greatest Showman and Hairspray, he did not sing in High School Musical. A singer and actor named Drew Seely did.

Also, some of the natural habitats saw a 75% drop in numbers of the clownfish.

Amy Poehler used to scoop ice cream before becoming the lovely leading lady we know her as today.
Ashlee Simpson made headlines when she was caught lip syncing on a popular show. Realizing what was going on, she danced for a minute before leaving the stage. At the end of the show, she attempted to say that the band had played the wrong song, but it didn’t explain why they heard her singing the wrong song.
Cardi B used to be a grocery store clerk before her fame hit.
The latest actor to don the Superman suit was Henry Cavill. There were many other actors who took up the role over the years. But Cavill played the superhero three times. There are more possibilities for him to play the role in the future.
