Homefolk and Heartache - D. Lionberger

    Captured in Amber

    ––––––––

He found her in the bowling alley

of a small town they had never been to.

He drank in the vision of the girl,

    who died seventeen years before,

    unchanged at twenty-five.

    for the wedding.

    Covered By Your Love

    ––––––––

    You pieced together a family,

    bandaged skinned knees and elbows,

    mended feelings that were hurt,

and stubbed toes, with patches of healing.

You learned the ways of genealogy,

    helped us
