A few years have already passed by and Jacob is now a Pastor and married to Lisa his high school sweet heart. The couple has a 3-year-old son named Josiah and is very blessed by the Lord. The growth of Pastor Jacob's church congregation, and Lisa's Christian network being one of the largest networks in the nation, is proof that God’s hand is on their lives. After experiencing some of the hardest years with the loss of his mother Hannah, his best friend Corey being thrown in prison, and the tragic death of the couple's very close friend Latasha, Jacob's faith is truly tested at a higher limit. Now Mike's only plot is to finish the job that he once started which is to finally kill Apostle Mark with Pastor Jacob. In this second installment, follow up from the first novel The Gangster vs. The Preacher, things are much more difficult this time around for Pastor Jacob. Will Pastor Jacob overcome all of the new temptation that comes his way or will he give into temptation? The outcome will only depend on the choices Pastor Jacob will make.

It has been over a year since Mike the Gangster had escaped from prison. He is on the run, and hiding out from state to state and city to city. Mike has been putting a new plan together for his self, to get back at his long old friend, and now enemy Apostle Mark. Apostle Mark was a former Pastor and previously a Gangster alongside Mike, until he met his true calling in the Lord Jesus Christ. Mike has been distraught after his former plan fell short. The ace that he had in the hole was having detective Jason Shan by his side, and now he is dead and Mike only has one person that he knows he can turn to. He knew the perfect person to reach out to first.

It will soon be time for Corey to be released from prison and Mike found out that Corey earned good time in prison which knocked some time off his bid. Mike knows that it's not really hard for him to put a battery inside Corey to pull his string and have him move out here in these streets like a robot. So, he continues to make his moves to strike back at Apostle Mark and Pastor Jacob, who stopped his plans from going forward before by helping to put him and Corey behind bars.

Meanwhile back at the Church, New Living Christian Center, about 600 people are out at the church to hear Pastor Jacob preach the Word of the Lord, and listen to his great testimony and the church mission work that he's been doing.

How are my brothers and sisters doing today? Jacob asked his church congregation. It feels great to be in the house of the Lord, for He is worthy to be praised. If God has done something great in your life, I need you to stand and give him some praise right now! As all the people in the church congregation stood and gave big praises to the most-high God, Lisa looks at Jacob and smiles at him with their son Josiah right beside her. As Pastor Jacob speaks to the church congregation, he talks about some of the places that he was blessed to be able to reach the people and show the love of God to.

Pastor Jacob continued to tell the news to his church family about how good God has been moving in the church and how peoples' lives are changing for the better. He was talking about how proud his father Jacob Sr. and mother Hannah would have been if they were both still alive today, but he knows that the Lord is looking down on him right now as he speaks to the church.

As Pastor Jacob starts to crack open his Bible and pray, he looks to the back of the church and sees Apostle Mark.

Well praise the Lord my good brother. It's good to see you in the house of God! Pastor Jacob shouted out loud to the back of the church. Then he invited Apostle Mark to come up to the front of the church and do the opening prayer. Apostle Mark starts to pray at the front of the church.

Dear Father in the name of Jesus we just come to you today, humble as we can be and just to thank you for all that you are doing for us. We know that we cannot do anything without you. By your power and wisdom, we ask that you guide us to continue to get an understanding of your Word and continue to speak the Word from you to the people who are out there in the world that are still lost. We ask that you use the speaker today and let every word that comes out of his mouth be from you today. We give you all the glory and honor in Jesus name. Amen.

Pastor Jacob gives Apostle Mark a hug and then shakes his hand. Thank you, my brother, and I love you. I thank God for you every day because you are like a big brother and a father all wrapped up in one to me, said Pastor Jacob to Apostle Mark. We are now ready for the Word, so I would like to ask my beautiful wife to come up and read the scripture for today, Pastor Jacob says.

Lisa comes up to read the Word of the Lord. Hello everyone and praise the name of Jesus. If you have your Bible with you today, please open it and turn to Psalms 66, and we will be reading verses 16 to 20. When you got it ready, please say amen. As Lisa read the Word and finished the scripture for that day, she said, May the Lord add a blessing to the reading of the Word. Then Pastor Jacob starts to preach the Word from the Lord.

As Pastor Jacob finished delivering an awesome, timely Word from the Lord, church was dismissed and Pastor Jacob’s phone rings. Hello, you have a collect call from Corey from a correctional facility. Press 1 to accept the call, the operator says. Pastor Jacob accepts Corey’s call and answers the phone. Hello you. What's up my brother? I am just blessed man and happy to hear from you. How are you doing man and how you been holding up? Are you ready to come home soon and are you ready to preach the gospel when you get out?

No doubt you already know, and all the praise we give to Jesus. I cannot wait to get out and preach the Word of the living God, said, Corey, as he responded back to Pastor Jacob. My brother I have a lovely looking sister at the church who is single and looking for a husband said, Pastor Jacob, as he let Corey know about a sister in the church who was asking about him. So, you mean to tell me that she is a hot looking sister? asks Corey. Yes, she is flaming hot and has been asking when you are coming home, a few times now. The sister has a lot of nice things going on for herself. She also sings on our church choir and does praise dancing. She is working on her very own gospel album that will be coming out soon. The thing to make it even better is she is also a runway model and does some fashion shows on the side, and she is going to be in a new movie that is directed by Fred Rush from King Rush Productions. Pastor Jacob gives Corey a full rundown on the sister from his church who is good friends with his wife, Lisa. My brother, you got to put me down with her and hook a brother up, says Corey eagerly. Trust me, my brother, I got you and will look out. Just take it easy, Pastor Jacob replies.

The operator says, You have 2 minutes remaining for this call. Well, it's time for me to get ready to bounce from off this phone before it turns off on me. You know how that can be. It already happened to us a few times when we lost track of time, says Pastor Jacob. Yeah, bro, you are right about that. Make sure you keep me in mind and this is my last time calling you because you know I will be ready to come home in the next 2 weeks, said Corey, as he replied to Pastor Jacob. Okay, my brother, I will see you on the other side. Be safe and continue to pray because you know the devil is out for us so we got to stay armed up with the power of Jesus, and we have to continue to stand on His Word, said Pastor Jacob. Amen, my brother and I will see you when I get out. Please make sure you tell everyone that I said hello and God bless, he replies.

Meanwhile, as Apostle Mark went home for the day, he was in prayer, and the Holy Spirit spoke and placed on his heart very clearly about his dear old friend who became his enemy, Mike. Mike was out on the streets and now is seeking revenge on him to strike back. Pastor Jacob’s phone starts to ring as he, and Lisa and their son Josiah were driving on their way home from church service.

Hello said, Pastor Jacob, as he picked up his phone to answer the call that was incoming.

Hey my brother and God Bless you, wonderful Word today. Sorry if I have disturbed you, but we need to meet up and talk. If Lisa asks just tell her you are meeting up with me to eat and talk some business, said Apostle Mark to Pastor Jacob.

Okay fine, let me drop off my family at the house first then get out of these church clothes and then I will meet you, Pastor Jacob replied.

Pastor Jacob dropped off Lisa and Josiah at the house then he changes his clothes and finally gets in his car and drives to meet up with Apostle Mark at an all you can eat pizza place. As Pastor Jacob greets his friend he says, Blessings my brother tell me what is on your mind.

Apostle Mark replies, So today I was in prayer and I saw a vision of Mike after he had already escaped from prison. Then the Holy Spirit spoke to me very clearly that the enemy will try to launch a new attack soon, but do not be afraid or feel troubled because this will be a way to bring back victory.

Wow, it is hilarious that you are telling me this because the other night Lisa and I were talking about all that the Lord had bought us from. Then as we talked we saw Mike’s mug shot on TV, so we turned the volume up and the police were offering a $150,000.00 reward to whoever finds him and turns him into their hands. Now that is crazy that you tell me this because Mike has been on the run for a while and I saw him in my vision trying to launch an attack.

Now that it has been confirmed that Mike is working his way back to the city, Apostle Mark and Pastor Jacob are on a full look out because they both know that the enemy will be working through Mike to launch an attack. The only way to defeat the enemy is by prayer and standing on the Word of God.

Two weeks later Corey is finally released from prison. Pastor Jacob picks him up from jail, and they drive to Happy Chickens, a new restaurant that Corey heard of from inside of prison through another inmate who became perfect friends with him. As the two of them were driving, they both were talking about old times and catching up with each other.

My brother, I think about Latasha all the time. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about her. I even think about her when I use to go to bed every night while I was locked down, said, Corey, as he continued conversing.

Yeah, I hear you bro. Latasha was, family and I cannot forget her as well, and in fact, Lisa and I were talking about her like three days ago and were talking about our good old days, mentioned Pastor Jacob. Hey, remember the time when we were in high school and the four of us were fighting them dudes, and we all went to the principal's office?

Yeah bro it all seems just like it happened yesterday, Corey replied back. Finally, Pastor Jacob and Corey pull up to Happy Chickens. Yes, Yes, Yes! We are here, and I can't wait to taste their honey smoked garlic barbeque fried chicken! Corey said with excitement. He was so happy to eat a regular meal again because it's been a while since he had decent food, being that he was locked down for a while.

Hello Pastor Jacob how can I help you today? said the waitress.

Hey Justina can I get a table for two today? asked Pastor Jacob.

Sure, no problem Pastor I will get you ready right away, replied the waitress. Justina, the waitress, walked away with a big smile on her face after she saw Pastor Jacob.

Man, that is crazy bro it's like that? She is super beautiful and hotter than hot sauce, Corey shouted because he was so amazed at how the waitress Justina looked. My brother she is gorgeous and I would like to really get to know her, Corey said as he laughed, and he repeated his self again about how beautiful the waitress looked.

Yes, my brother, she is fine and always tries to push up on me, knowing that I am happily married, Pastor Jacob said to Corey.

So, let me ask you a question Pastor Jacob. Do you mean to tell me all this time she is feeling you and you do not want to give her any play?

Pastor Jacob replied, For what, and why would I want to do that and screw up my marriage because of how a woman looks? That is nothing but the trick of the enemy that would come to break up my family. Trust me I know if I wanted to get with her I can with no problem, but then I have to worry about disappointing God and lose what I worked hard for. At the end of the day, none of it is worth losing my work to the Lord because He comes first in my life my brother. We as true believers of Jesus must know when the devil is out for the attack on our lives. How about I do you a favor by introducing you to her when she comes over to serve us our food?

My brother that will be good looking out if you can make that happen, Corey responded.

As the waitress, Justina came back to serve the gentlemen, Jacob introduced Corey to Justina. Hey, Justina, this is a good friend of mine. Corey meet Justina and Justina meet Corey, says Pastor Jacob.

Hello, Corey, it's nice to meet you, the waitress said.

Hello, Justina, it is great to meet you, and you are very pleasing to the eyes, says Corey as he stares at her

Oh wow, I am? Well thank you, Justina says to Corey.

Well, your lips for number one. Also, you have gorgeous eyes and those greens eyes make me want to put a ring on it now. Then to put the cherry on top, your body is the truth, Said, Corey, as he gives her the answer that makes her feel special.

Hey, Corey, I tell you what just give me your phone number, and I will give you my number then we can call each other and talk more. I would like to get to know more about you, Justina says.

Okay, pretty lady that would work for me and sounds great, he replies as he writes down Justina’s phone number. They start to eat their food and Corey is so amazed at how the food tasted. They both continued to eat together as they talked and caught up with each other for old times' sake. As Pastor Jacob and Corey were sitting and eating they got a letter from a man who was sitting across from them. He was dressed in all black with a black hoodie.

He walked over to the guys' table and handed them a letter and said, Make sure you two read this letter. Then right after he handed them the paper, he walked out of the Happy Chickens Restaurant. The letter was from Mike, and it read, you think that everything is over and that you are safe, but you are not! You think Jesus is going to save you, but He will not this time. The last time it was luck and not by Jesus. There is no such thing as this Jesus. It was made up by man. I am the only God you need to know, so you all better watch your back out here in these streets. I see your every move and once I feel the time is right and I catch you slipping, is going to be when I will make my moves on you all and strike back, and that means everyone including that son of yours Pastor Jacob. Watch out for yourself!" Pastor Jacob looks at Corey and hands him the letter from Mike to read with his own eyes.

Corey read the letter and says to Pastor Jacob, I told you that he was out and to be on the lookout. The crazy part about it is that Mike does not know that I came home today. All he knew was I was coming home soon. We need to come up with a plan to get Mike out of our lives for good. You just have to trust me, said Corey.

How are you able to pull off that? Do you mean by acting like you are his friend and getting down with him? The risk is way too dangerous for you because if Mike ever thinks for one minute that you are crossing him, he will kill you at a wink of his eye. Mike is out for blood and does not care about life it's self now, Pastor Jacob told Corey. Pastor Jacob calls Apostle Mark on his phone to let him know about the letter that he got from Mike. After Pastor Jacob along with Corey finished eating, they leave Happy Chickens and Corey says goodbye to Justina and lets her know that he will talk to her later.

So where are we going now? Corey asked Pastor Jacob.

Just relax my brother wait and see but first don't you want to see your mom?

Yes, I do for sure! Corey shouted, and as they walked into the house Corey asked, Whose house is this?

Then Pastor Jacob said, My brother just relax like I told you, and trust me you will find out soon!

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Finally, when the two walked into the front of the house to go inside Corey saw that the house is the biggest house that he had ever seen, besides the home that Lisa grew up in. Wow, this house is crazy. Whose house is this?" Corey continues to ask Pastor Jacob.

This is your mother's new house Pastor Jacob replied back to Corey. As they go inside the house, Corey is hit with a big surprise by family and close friends. It was a surprise welcome home party for Corey. Okay, my brother, you got me real good with this, chuckled Corey.

Welcome back my brother you are free, and God has given you a second chance to do good. Do not blow this chance this time around. It is time to be a leader and not a follower of your old buddy Mike. We both know that he is out and trying to make a plan. Just walk with the Lord, and he will direct your path to the good life, advised Pastor Jacob.

Meanwhile, back at Mike’s new hideout place, Mike saw a newspaper and started to read it, and as he read the newspaper, he saw his own mug shot in the paper and read about his self. Man, I tell you the news makes things look worse than what they are. I am way too hot now by making the paper. We really got to do something to help me stay around long without going back to jail Crazy Shawn. Do you feel me, my dude?, he asked.

Crazy Shawn responded, Yeah, Mike. I feel you, but first, we need to get money because we cannot do much with just $75,000.00. We need to buy new guns and get new spots to work out of plus we will need to put new goons to work and be on the payroll.

You know what Crazy Shawn you are right. I think I have a good idea what to do. We have to get in contact with big Ty to get this $75,000.00 flipped at least 4 times for us to be able to start moving out. This time I will not miss my mark on my old friend Apostle Mark. Payback is long overdue for this clown, and this time I will not miss. Also, I want to put a stop to that fake little brother of his-Pastor Jacob. This time it is on, and poppin and only the strong will survive. It will be the end of those Jesus lovers said, Mike, as he breaks out in laughter about his new plans.

Back at Corey’s surprise welcome home party, Corey spots the women that Pastor Jacob had told him about while he was still locked up in jail. Yo, my brother, I think I met the sister you were talking about that goes to your church. Her name is sister Leah, right? Corey asked, and then Pastor Jacob replied back with a yes.

So what you think of her my brother? Pastor Jacob asked Corey.

She is very hot but not hotter than the waitress Justina from Happy Chickens, stated Corey.

You may be right, but remember it's not always about looks. Justina may look better than sister Leah from the outside, but Justina just seems like another chick that is just looking for a quick come up to get her out of working at Happy Chickens. Now see sister Leah has her own thing going on and is not looking for handouts. Make sure you take your time and really pray and think about that, said Pastor Jacob with conviction.

Corey came back at him with, I hear what you saying my brother so this is what I am going to do. I will date both of them and weigh my options. Whoever I feel that is a good fit for me will be the one that I will take to the next level. After all, I am single right now and do not owe anyone but myself, said Corey as he talks to Pastor Jacob about his own dating plans.

You are absolutely right my brother. Just make sure you do the main thing before going out with any of them, and that is pray, remarks the Pastor.

"My brother, you are talking about praying it's effortless for you to say. You have Lisa and she is gorgeous, plus she does whatever you ask her to do and you two been together since we were in high school. You talking about praying and that is crazy. I am not trying to pray. I am trying to smash both of them. You got to understand I been locked up for a while without having any kind of connection with any women at all, so it's only right that I get my creep and freak on, Corey said excitedly.

As they continue talking Pastor Jacob sympathetically said, Corey, I hear where you are coming from, and it's real rap but we here in this world to please God and not our own flesh. We have to allow the God in us to work to shine the light on other people who are lost out here in this world so that they too can be saved. Life is all about choices we make, and one wrong choice can lead to a lifetime of pain which you should already know about.

What are you trying to say, my brother? inquired Corey.

I am not trying to say it. I said it already so you do the math. The choice you made before is the real reason why Latasha is dead and then landed you in jail. Did you forget about that? was Pastor Jacob’s next question.

No, my brother, I have not forgotten, and in fact, it is something that I have to live with the rest of my life. If I could go back in time, I would change everything that happened that whole night, he stated, regretfully.

Pastor Jacob continues, I believe you would, but you can't, and this is the reason you got to make the right choice this time so that you do not cause more pain and hurt. Walk with Jesus and live a Godly life. Remember we are in the world but not of this world. We have to stand on holy ground, my brother. Please don't take this no type of way like I am trying to act like I am better than you because I am not. I am just trying to tell you what is right by the will of God.

As Pastor Jacob explains to Corey about walking in the will of God the doorbell rings and it is Apostle Mark at the door. He comes into the house to greet Corey with a welcome home, and then he gives Corey a hug. "How have you been young brother? I am happy to see you made it home. You know you have a great testimony to share with people that may be going through some things you been through already, said Apostle Mark to Corey.

Yes, sir, you are right, and I really understand now because being locked down God had to show me how to work in his will. It's just sad that it took my having to go to prison to see it, said Corey. The two of them talked more

in-depth, and after their conversation, Apostle Mark hands Corey a card with a $6,000.00 check for him to use to help him get back on his feet.

Thank you, my brother, I sure can use this now that I am home. Is it safe to deposit this check? Corey asked Apostle Mark in a joking matter. Then everyone around started to laugh.

Of course, Apostle Mark replied back to Corey and he was smiling as well. The day went on while they continue to celebrate the welcome home party for Corey. Corey cut his cake and get a nice big hug from his mother then she put hands on him and prayed for him to do the right thing now that he is home. ‘People started to leave to go home, and Corey is approached by sister Leah. She asks him if they can take a ride to talk. Corey accepts sister Leah’s offer and takes a ride with her. Corey goes to the coat closet and grabs his jacket along with sister Leah's coat.

Hey my brother, where are you going with sister Leah?, Pastor Jacob asked Corey.

We going to go somewhere to handle our business. Maybe your sister is not so righteous after all because she wants to give me some loving, said Corey, as he had one of the biggest smiles on his face; then starts to make his way out of the house with sister Leah on his arm.

Pastor Jacob yelled back to Corey while he leaving out saying, Whatever man. Just don't forget about what we talked about!

Sister Leah walked up to her silver Maybach and asked Corey where is he going as he was walking to a red Honda Civic.

Oh sorry, this not your car Corey asked?

Why would you think it's my car? Is it because I am a female? You know women like the fine things in life too. The key is not to get so caught up in these things and keep your eyes on Jesus and when you do that, all things work out for good and you will be blessed in this lifetime because you put Him first, said sister Leah.

You are very correct my sister-soon to be my wife, said Corey.

Oh, is that right? I see you already claiming me, and I like how you slid that one in. You got a little game with you brother, she said.

No, it's not game I am just speaking it in the name of the Jesus, he quickly replied.

"So how do you know that I will be your wife? You know nothing about me but my name. I could be a crazy chick that you may not want to deal with at all’’, she laughed.

You are right, but you seem very level-headed, he continued.
