Chapter 1:
YEARS BACK in my early 20s, precisely around 2003 before I won the scholarship to study computer engineering in Lagos – one of the biggest (economically) and most acclaimed city in Africa.
I had always wrestled with my own insecurity, with my own fear, doubt, limitation and suspicion!
Although the idea that, come hell or high water, I’m going to win an academic award which would be referenced in my biography had always been stocked with me like glue prior to my graduation from college.
However, the circumstances surrounding me back then proved otherwise.
How really possible would that be,
I sometimes thought to myself.
"You’re not as strong, smart and intelligent as others, and besides, you don’t even have any connection whatsoever that can possibly see you through the storm.
So what chance do you really have?"
You see, looking back now I realized that one of the cardinal reasons why I limited myself in those days, why I revolved within the axis of this line of thought was predicated on the fact that, unlike the movie, The Lion King, which teaches the importance of knowing who you are and whose you are, I hardly knew who I was and whose I was.
In fact, I had little or next-to-no-faith about myself, about my own gift and potential.
And furthermore, the idea that Lagos, like New York, is a city where you have the best brains, where virtually everything is on a fierce competition was enough to make me flee, like Simba, into exile!
Hence it wasn’t funny; because it is one of the biggest, economically-fastest-growing-city in West African which can be likened to New York City when it comes to the rat race!
So I fizzled out, thinking I might not be able to make it through.
But sometimes even though amidst unprecedented challenges, amidst doubt and fear, and because I grew up as a church boy,
