About this ebook

Michael

I know the risks. I've seen what happens to people who don't follow the rules. But none of the rules matter where she's concerned. At first, she's just another pretty face. Before I know what's hit me, she becomes the one person I can't see myself living without. The only problem is, she's the daughter of the ruthless Gianny Vincenzo, and there are signs I could be his next victim.

Alyssa

I didn't ask for this life. I look the other way and pretend it's not happening. When my father asks me to do something for him, I know I should refuse, but I don't have that luxury. What my father wants, he gets, no matter who it hurts. This time, though, I might be the one who ends up with my heart broken.

Do Alyssa and Michael have what it takes to see this through or will Gianny's plot change life as they knew it?

This whole series so far has been amazing. Love the story line how it kept Brian and Jill in the whole series.

Michael

I’m Michael Cappetta, I’m twenty-seven years old, and tonight I watched Crave do a kick-ass set at T-Mobile Arena in the town where I live, Vegas. By the time they were done, Apollo, all sweaty with soaked hair, looked like he had just finished running a marathon. The band played for two hours, with Apollo singing his heart out the entire time. I don’t know how the guy protects his vocal chords, but Crave really gives back to the fans.

Now the set is over, and I’m drinking beers with Apollo and Brian at my condo. I’ve known these two since we were kids.

The three of us grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, but none of us remained there. We all landed in different states. As for me, I came to Vegas from Cleveland five years ago when I was twenty-two. Because Crave came to town, I figured I’d catch Apollo here since I hadn’t seen him in years. When Brian knew we were getting together, he made arrangements to be here, as well. So it’s a reunion for us.

Brian flew here in one of his many private planes. When we grew up together, he was a geek, always in the house and on the computer. When we were kids, we used to have to beg Brian to come outside his home to hang with us. Now, the guy’s fucking loaded. People across America and even in some other countries have got his parking app on their phone. You should see this guy’s clothes, too. Hell, he probably blew a couple of grand alone just on his shoes.

As for Apollo, well, he’s the lead singer of Crave, a rich rock star. The guy’s been raking in the dough for years.

Me? I’m not doing too bad, business is good. We’re sitting here in my sick condo that’s about 3,200 square feet. It’s not the penthouse, but it’s one floor below. Not bad. But I’ve got nothing on these guys. They could buy me ten times over.

I look at Apollo. The guy’s usually got long hair, but he recently cut it shorter than usual. I like it better that way, and he still looks like a rock star, and handsome as fuck. Even though I’m a guy, I’m not afraid to say it. How many chicks have you banged? I say, staring at him. Do you even remember?

He says he’s done with that now, says Brian. He’s dating Dorothy Seeger. She’s that girl who won a date with him.

Oh, yeah? I say as I walk to my fridge to grab another beer. She won a date with him? I hadn’t heard about that.

It’s good that you didn’t, says Apollo. I acted like an ass and it turned into sort of a mess. In fact, it was all over social media. I can’t believe you hadn’t heard about it. Anyway, we fixed it.

I don’t do social media, dude, I say. Waste of time. So is this girl hot?

She is to me, says Apollo. I’d introduce you to her, but she left Vegas yesterday. Right now I only see her a few days at a time.

I’m surprised you have the time to see her for even that long. You’re always on the road. So. . . she’s your girlfriend?

Yeah, says Apollo. She’s my girl. He raises his hand and makes an inch gesture with his thumb and index finger. I’m this close to getting her to quit her job and come on the road with me. I’m not there yet, but I’m getting there.

Brian looks at me. I don’t think it’s going to happen, Michael. She told him she’d think about it, but if she wanted to do it, she would have done it by now.

Fuck you, Brian, says Apollo. "It is going to happen, and sooner than you think. I want her with me and I’m going to get her with me. You ought to know by now I get what I want."

I smile. Yeah, you usually do, I say.

Fuck yeah, I do, says Apollo. She’s gonna be with me. You can bet on that.

Okay, man. I believe you, says Brian. And I’ve got some news of my own. Brian looks at me and then at Apollo. I’m going to ask Jill to marry me.

Yeah? says Apollo. You’re going for it?

"I bought an island, recently, and we’re going to get married on it. I expect you two to be there. I’m just asking my closest friends.
