Prayer is personal and relational between man and his Creator. ‘Prayer is an integral element of all forms of Christian worship, and it is a covenant relationship between God and humanity in Christ.’[1]

‘Prayer is to be offered in the name of the Lord Jesus,’ (Jn. 14: 13). Prayer must align with Jesus’s character according to the Word of God and must be presented in the same spirit of dependence and submission that marked Him, Matthew 11: 26; Luke 22: 42. The Holy Spirit, being the sole interpreter of the needs of the human heart, makes His intercession therein; and prayer is ineffective without His help, Romans 8: 26; believers are therefore exhorted to pray at all seasons in the Spirit, Ephesians 6: 18.[2]
