About this ebook

This is a book of poems, which have been written over a large span of my life, starting over 40 years ago, to the present day.

As the title states, many of these poems are perspectives of my life or life around me

I have grouped them into sections, with a short preface on each section.

I hope you enjoy them

Polly Paice

I am 65 years of age, and I am an everyday housewife and mother. I have two wonderful children and two beautiful grandchildren. Since I was a young child, you would always find me with my head buried in a book. I was fascinated by words, and how they could bring things alive for me. I started to write poetry when I was quite young, and had my one of my poems published in our school magazine, which was many moons ago. I then had quite a long period when writing took a back seat, and it was not until my early fifties, that I felt inspired to write again, it is since than that I have written most of my poems.

    Prelude to Section 1

I am privileged to live in the centre of the beautiful English countryside, and these poems were inspired by the wonders of nature which are found all around us.

    Autumn

The morning mist lays low upon the meadow

Spread out just like a blanket on the ground

The tendrils weave around surrounding hedgerows

And hide nocturnal creatures homeward bound

The rising sun shines softly and has kissed

The fluffy clouds that hover overhead

And on the meadow hidden by the mist

Like a blushing rose soft pink and tinged with red

The treetops now peep out and raise their heads

And catch the morning sun, which sets ablaze

The glorious shade of autumn, brown and red

    And yellow and green, to
