Charlie is immersed in his own world of religion, and Sarah is a geology-archaeology major.

Each faces challenges regarding their spiritual beliefs, and each becomes preoccupied with events and situations that take place in their lives while on campus-including the appearance of a mysterious man. In the midst of their difficulties, they learn of a monthly "Let's Talk" meeting held for students and the community with a spiritual adviser who answers questions, gives advice, and talks about how synchronicity takes place in their lives, clarifying how each person actually helps to create their own reality.

A work of religious fiction, Striving to Know tells a story about resolve, personal growth, and how friends' support for one another helps them to achieve their final goals.

CHAPTER 1

In the Beginning

A GATHERING OF INTERESTED STUDENTS and others who wanted to know more about how to set personal goals and reach spiritual fulfillment came to hear the spiritual author and adviser’s monthly session, Let’s Talk, at a private college.

And so the spiritual adviser began. She sat in an armchair in the front of a small adjacent room to the main chapel, where often the fragrance of jasmine, hung in the air.

"We will be talking about only positive experiences during this session, and we ask that the Holy Spirit, Lord Jesus, and Holy Archangel Michael protect us and guide our actions and thoughts during this and all future sessions.

"First, it is important to remember that everything is made up of energy, and that the loving angels who work with Lord Jesus can use anything, animate or inanimate, to provide helpful information.

"Angel interactions are very subtle, which means often this interaction will go unnoticed. There are reasons for this, but mainly it is because an individual is not ready to realize or understand what help is being given and why. But when the time is right, the right information will be recognized, and the person will have an awareness of the presence of their loving angels.

"No, I am not going to be like a preacher and talk about religion. I am only offering you information through what I have experienced personally. That is why I write books—to tell about my experiences of the many helping holy angels who work with Lord Jesus, Archangel Michael, and the Holy Spirit.

"My books may not read like exciting novels. They are written plainly, in words that best describe my personal experiences. And because what I’ve written is true, the energy in the words is food for your spiritual nature, which the holy angels can use as a door opener in ways that will be meaningful for you. Your experiences may not be anything like mine, but somewhere along the way you will start becoming more aware of how holy angels are helping you in your life.

When you become enlightened, it is possible to actually get information from someone passing by you on the street, holding a conversation with another person. That person will not be talking directly to you; it will be your own synchronicity that makes you aware of the coincidence and the information that you receive.

At that very moment, during the session, no one seemed to notice the young man who entered and stood at the back of the room. But the spiritual adviser felt his presence as he entered. She looked over in his direction and saw him and the light that circled his body. He was a slender, young-looking Caucasian, medium in height, with auburn-colored hair, and dressed in safari attire. He leaned back against the wall, with a relaxed stance, while reflecting an intense stare over the audience, almost as if he were hunting for someone he knew. He didn’t seem to be listening to the spiritual adviser but instead looking at the audience for their reaction to what they were hearing, or maybe he was reading the auras of those in attendance, like the spiritual adviser was reading his. Not once did he ever look at the spiritual adviser. It was as if he already knew what she was going to tell the audience. Instead he was waiting to see who would react in a certain way to her words.

Then a question came from a young girl in the audience.

Isn’t synchronicity something that is planned? Like let’s synchronize our watches to make sure we meet on time to go to the dance.

The spiritual adviser replied, "Synchronicity can take place through a conscious act, or it can be subconscious. By this I mean it can be a situation where someone has given energy through a thought or action, and that energy causes the coincidence—much like programming a computer in order
