Spiders Treasure Box of Stories is a collection of storiesmyths, fables, parables, and original work by Jamieson, collected over several decades and have been well loved by children. They come close to the old cautionary tales.
The book is aimed at all those who love stories and would like to love spiders and other critters of the garden and shed. It will provide entertainment and spark imaginative ideas. His latest book is A Good Way to Go, about some of the mental health and ethical issues around life and death. Adults can use the collection for themselves and in educational situations, especially where ethical teaching is part of the intention.
His illustrations make the characters come alive. This book has all the hallmarks of Jamiesons creativity both in writing and philosophy, art and illustrating. It challenges the reader to think about smaller things in life.
Colin G. Jamieson
Colin Jamieson is trained in art, teaching, and theology, maintaining strong interests in creativity, spirituality, pastoral care, mental health and community development through his professional careers. He has been involved in publishing with two books including his poems, “Stations of the Land” & “Port Hills Poems” as well as documentary film-making and a features film “Woman in White.” starring Jennifer Barrer. Colin lives in Lyttelton Harbour of the South Island of New Zealand

Spider and the Python
In Africa the spider was the craftiest of all creatures, and in distant Africa’s distant time the great forefather of spiders said to his wife, It is wrong that the Lord of Words has locked up in the sky all the wonderful stories that have been told, and we cannot hear them. We should get them back from the sky god Wordy, the keeper of stories.
Great foremother spider Arakny said, This will be a dangerous venture. Wordy is so powerful and possessive. Be careful, my husband.
Spider began the long journey out of the forest, across the desert, and up the mountain to where Wordy lived.
Ana2..jpgWhen Spider poked his head through the clouds and saw how big Wordy was in his flowing blue and white robes, he was frightened. He took a deep breath of courage, puffed his chest out, and said, Excellent Lord of Words, I have come to get the stories which you have locked away in the sky.
Wordy roared with thunder. What makes you think you can have my treasure chest of stories, little spider? The zebra, the lion, and the elephant have tried to get my stories and have failed. Not even humans have been able to release them from my treasure chest, and here you are, an itsy-bitsy spider, thinking you can get them.
Spider politely asked, Isn’t there any way for us to hear your stories?
