About this ebook

CRACKED PAVEMENT

After the success of his first book of poems and songs -The Cul De Sac Of My Mind-
Ian Trust has developed a cult following which is stretching across Europe and into America
Ian writes it as he feels it, his work is somewhat raw and straight from the heart and soul of the man
Ian is currently working on his autobiographical novel entitled
I Am Them
And his third book of poems and songs
Tunnel Vision
He has a message to tell the world and in his writing he has found the perfect tool.

Another wonderful book of poems and songs to be read a little at a time rather than in one sitting. some sad some funny but all written from the heart.

Author

Ian Trust

Ian Trust was born in the small market town of Henley on Thames in Oxfordshire in 1966 and enjoyed a pretty normal upbringing until an incident in his life that was to change his emotional wellbeing happened He was abused while on holiday with his parents which he kept to himself for many years and until now his parents knew nothing about it. He was later to see his parents marriage decay and watch as they went their separate ways. His father did his best to control a young boy who tried very hard to rebel against society. But it was the calming influence of his step mother who helped the boy turn into a more rounded man. Ian grew and had many relationships with many women but none were very successful as most of the women in his life were to lie and cheat making Ian an emotional wreck. one of these relationships ended with 2 wonderful children who despite their father have grown into very rounded individuals. An attempted suicide in the mid 90's made Ian open up and decide to turn his life around and so Ian was to marry in 1996 to a woman that all but him could see was not right for him and although they had 2 more children they were to divorce after 4 years due to her adulterous behavior. Ian would see his children as often as he could but his ex wife would later take them from him and to this day he doesn't know where they are. Ian remarried in 2007 but sadly it was a loveless marriage and soon dissolved. Ian now lives happily with his life partner and soulmate Sharon with their little girl Lily-May

    CRACKED PAVEMENT

    BROWN WATER

Sadness was all around as death filled the air

They looked at the past and wondered why they didn’t care

And all the scientists stood about wearing a frown

Wondering what it was that made the water go brown

Nothing left to drink except a store of old liquor

People flocking to churches to plead with their vicar

To pray to god for fresh rain to fall from the sky

Instead of the acid in which we all fry

The air has a stench, water is poisoned and the crops all dead

No food to eat, nothing to wet our lips, what were they thinking?

What went on in their head?

Priests praying on river banks wearing a dirty sack gown

Praying for answers as to why the water went brown

The dead sit in their houses some by the roadside

The green brigade marching saying at least we tried

But it’s all too late the earth is dying

There’s no point in looking for answers no point in crying

And still the scientists stand about their heads pointing down

Wondering what they did to make the water go brown

We’re all to blame yes me and even you

400 litres a day per person in the western world it’s true

We turned a blind eye when they melted the ice cap

Why should we conserve when it’s so easy to turn on the tap

    I know I’m a joker and a bit of a clown

But look at yourselves to see why the water went brown

    WRITERS BLOCK

I’ve got writers block and I can’t think of anything to write

I’ve tried and I’ve tried but my minds been blank all night

I’ve tried the demon drink in the hope I get depressed

Because that’s when my writings at it’s best

I thought of all my sad times and bad times too

I’ve even tried thinking of my life without you

    But it doesn’t work

    I’ve got writers block

I’ve read a few books and listened to sad depressing songs

And in my head tried to right a few wrongs

But I can’t think what to put down on this paper

Perhaps the talent I had is beginning to taper

I try to imagine the most horrifying thought

To grab hold of the subject that I have sought

    To write about

    I’ve got writers block

People out there like my poems and songs

Some depend on me to carry them along

So I’ve got to write something if not for me

But for those few who love to see

And read about my fucked up head

And people that I’ve wanted to bed

    But I can’t

    I’ve got writers block

So maybe I should write about not being able to write

It sounds a bit weird but in the middle of the night

And I can’t think of anything else to say

But I’ve got to sleep and put this away

For now this is my lot

I can’t write anymore because I’ve got writers block

    ASIAN HONEY

She’s a little bit quirky she’s a little bit funny

    But she’s my Asian honey

She’s so beautiful she’s so fair

    She gets me into trouble

    But I don’t care

    She’s my Asian honey

    Ooooooo she tastes so sweet

    Ooooooo she tastes so fine
