Efrosini Sardelis Malavakis is a Greek-American, first generation born in Washington, D.C. She was raised by her parents who came to The United States from Athens, Greece in 1955. From a very young age, she had a relationship with God. She attended the Reverend Thomas Daniels Greek Parochial School in Washington, D.C. The author has an extraordinary brother. Though her father passed away, she has a great relationship with her mother. She and her wonderful husband, have two daughters and three grandsons.

I am scared, I am cold, and it is dark. My body is moving at a great speed. How is this possible? Where am I? How is my body moving? Why is it so dark? What is happening to me? I am so afraid and have no voice. I cannot yell. I keep looking around me, but I see nothing but darkness. I begin to cry. I can feel my tears falling on my face. I can feel the fear in my heart and soul.
I have no control of my speed or my direction. I am moving, and it feels like I am in a tube or a tunnel. I am so confused. I am so afraid. I begin to tremble. What is happening to me?
I am not controlling this. I have no special powers. I am just a normal teenager.
