A Table for One

About this ebook
in the Carolina sun,
I turned off my phone.
I prefer to be alone.
Id rather be here, sipping my wine,
At this table for one where I now alone dine,
Than hearing reports on CNN news,
Politicos spouting harebrained views.
Id rather be sitting here all alone,
Miles away from TV or phone,
Oblivious to all the anger and hate,
Lost in thoughts of my own simple fate.
Lynn Reebe
I am a retired elementary school teacher who lives at the New Jersey shore with my husband , Chuck, and my small dog Barney. I enjoy writing poetry and belong to two writing groups. My poetry deals with social issues, nature, popular novels and movies, and mankind's amazing ability to overcome adversity. Although most of my poems rhyme, some of them read like prose. My favorite female poets are Edna St. Vincent Millay and Emily Dickinson. I have been previously published in Echoes of LBI , a popular coffee table magazine, about the culture and history of Long Beach Island.
