I've Walked That Road: Personal Testimony of Amanda Biemond
()
About this ebook
Have you ever questioned if youve gone too far for God to reach you? Or could there be anything more for you in life besides this? For years I pondered those same questions. When I came to know the Lord, there was one tear-soaked prayer I asked of him: Lord please, use all of my past for your glory! Please, Lord!
It is my hope that these pages will meet you where you are, offer you a hope and a love like no other.
Amanda Biemond
Amanda Biemond is a small-town girl born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. The apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians about how because he persecuted Christians he is unworthy of even being called an Apostle. Her thoughts about writing this book are much the same. Much like the apostle Paul, she states “I feel very under-qualified for the job.” However, the story of her life tells the complete opposite. Paul was an apostle because of the grace of God in his life. The grace of God is what qualifies her to share this story with you. Amanda now resides in Lyn, Ontario, with her husband and two beautiful children. Together they serve the Lord at Safehaven Farms, where they strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus to his children in need. About The Author
PREFACE
H ave you ever wondered if anyone could possibly understand how you feel? Have you gone too far for God to save you? Is there anything better than this out there?
For years I sat and pondered the same questions, and throughout my life, God has shown me some of the answers. Parts of my life have left painful memories on my heart. I have made choices I deeply regret and gone places I wish I had never gone. I have put scars on other people’s lives that I wish I could erase. For years I wandered away from God, but all along he was ready to save me. It is my hope that you will turn to him today.
This book is a collection of my life stories and struggles that I wish to share with you. These pages are filled with events that shaped me into the person I am today. It is my hope that you will find inspiration to continue on in whatever struggles you face during your time on earth. I am willing to share the secrets of my success with you so you too may find deliverance.
I have by no means found all the foolproof answers to life. I wish to share the breakthroughs I have found with all those still stuck in bondage. Hebrews 13:3 states, Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
Certain events in my life caused me to suffer, but I now know I never suffered alone. Whatever you may be enduring today, I desire to show you that you are not alone. I have been there too. God is with you right now. Evil is all around us, and those enduring the torture of it must never be forgotten. Furthermore, I too have been a prisoner enslaved to the temptations I gave in to. Through Christ I found my way back out, and I wish to part that Red Sea and lead you out with me. The Bible warns us in John 10:10, The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Are you experiencing the fullness of life? I wish to introduce you to the one who can overflow your cup and quench your thirst.
When I met Christ and gave him my life, there was one tear-soaked prayer I asked of him: Lord, please use all of this for your glory, and let something good come of all the bad.
If I can touch one life through this book, then all of my work and determination were worth it. I pray that person may be you. Each one of us is a precious child of God, so come just as you are. May these pages meet you where you are, offer you hope, and show you a love like no other.
CHAPTER 1
STARTING POINT
G rowing up, my family consisted of my parents, my three brothers, and me. Naturally, my mom and I bonded because of the estrogen pumping through our veins!
My youngest brother was a lot like me, except he was five years younger. Hopefully, as he grows, he will avoid all the crooked paths I took in life. My older brother and I have our own opinions, but I cherished every moment he was there for me. For the most part, we did our own things. However, when push came to shove, he would always be the one to hug me and whisper, You’re gonna be okay.
My middle brother—well, I could write a whole book about him. We fought like cats and dogs all the time. And now I completely understand why: he’s me! We each had our own opinions, and we were always right! Dad and I were always at odds, but—praise the Lord—we are finally finding ways to communicate.
Farming was very much a part of all our lives. My parents owned a dairy farm, and like most farm kids, we knew the definition of work. Every day seemed to consist of the same chores: get up, milk the cows, eat, work in the fields or at school, milk the cows, eat, and sleep again. All the while, it seemed no one could ever stop arguing over the pettiest little things. At night when I laid my head down, sometimes I couldn’t help but wonder what tomorrow’s issue would be.
Life sure can deal out some
