Simeon Ayanlade
The author’s life used to be formless. His days used to be filled with junk, not tangible things that would move his life forward. At first, he thought the problems were from outside, rather than inside. He used to get angry at people for all the happenings in his life, things that were not going as they should. But that changed when he realised he was the problem. That there were mistakes he was making every single day that were putting paid to his getting to the top. He has been at the lowest ebb of life. After he compared his life now that he is serious with his life when he was reckless, he sees a huge difference. Because of his love and passion to see that people are not held captive by themselves, he wrote this book. He believes strongly that if people can take time to reflect on those things he pointed out in the book and work on correcting whatever mistakes they have made and still making, the difference will be noticeable in no time.

GRATITUDE
I give all the glory, honour and adorable to the God Almighty for His grace over my life. Even when I felt I was inadequate He was there to remind me that He created for great exploits and that all I need to succeed, He has embedded me.
My parents have been wonderful for me. When I thought I am incapable of great things, they are always there to support me. My siblings supports also has boosted my confident that it can be done.
I cannot forget people whose lives and stories have one way or the other change how I think and see life. Even though I am yet to meet any of them one-on-one, their books and tapes are daily changing my life for the best. Their materials are daily refreshing me for greater challenges ahead of me.
INTRODUCTION
All human beings were created by God to be the best. All of us were created to be champions. We were all created to have dominion over the earth. We are equipped with the best resources available to be the best in life. God created us to be the best. He created us to live a mountain-top life. He has the best in stock for us. He embedded us with all we need to be the best. Unfortunately we are not living to be the best we are created to be. We have lost our ways and we need to rediscover our steps. We have over the time left what should be done undone.
We were born with talents and skills without measures. We are endowed with intelligence to be significance in life. We all possess the attributes to be major contributors to human development. We have the opportunities of honing talents to help fellow human being. We were full of energy and greatly filled with positive thoughts. We have our minds filled with the thoughts of greatness. Earlier in life we believed it is possible for us to be great and add meanings to others.
We always find solutions to problems that confronted us. Anytime we are not satisfied we become restless until we have found answers to questions bothering our minds. Not only have us noticed that inquisitiveness, but people around us also. People around us can see our brightness and they would have one way or the other affirmed it to us. Some of us have affinity for one area of study or the other. As much as we have angular people, we also have well-rounded people who are doing well in anything they do. We have people who are great readers; we also have people who are analytical. We have people who enjoy reading on variety of subjects, while we also have people who focus on few subjects and do well.
Some of us started out in life as people devoted to excellence. Anything we wanted to achieve we devoted all our resources into achieving them. Some of us used to be the best among the peers. We some of time carried the flags of our respective schools. Our teachers and tutors believed in our capabilities, and they were convinced if we continue like that we can conquer the world. Some of us can perform excellently well in our examinations. We had people who at an attempt have the intelligence to pass with flying colours in all the courses they sit.
But one way or the other we ended up failing to achieve what our talents are capable of achieving. We often ended up in the lower spectrum of success. Instead of continually improve ourselves we got to a level that we plateau and we made no serious attempt to launch out again. Instead of changing our friends and environments to those that can challenge us to excellence, we come down to their level. We filled our circle of friends with people who are as smart or not as smart as us.
Instead of detaching from those associations; we are consciously or unconsciously going deeper into such associations. Instead of choosing to do the best we were created to be, we are contented with doing the best others around us are doing.
Most of us instead to be at the driver seats of our lives, we allowed others to anchor our ships. Instead of striving to be independent, we become dependent on our families, friends, and societies. We chose to let them dictate the direction of our lives. We allowed outside influences to override the inner influences. We gave them great power to dictate how we should think and act. Their opinions were running the rules over lives. We surrendered our inner power and we are at their whims and caprices. We became paralysed with fear of things that doesn’t exist out there. Fear of the unknowns is stopping us from launching out.
We became fearful to the extent that decisions that we should make, we are now letting others make the decisions for us. All about us (our thoughts, our actions, and our beliefs) reflected that of zombie. We are grownups yet we still do things like toddlers who are learning to walk and use their senses right. We allowed trials and tribulations to become behemoths that they are now. Because of bricks that life throws at us in one adventure, we gave up the chance to launch another. Beasts that we can tame, we allowed them to create fear in us.
Some of these conflicts won’t become obvious until they have taken over every area of our lives. Some come as friendly and innocuous, some seem inconsequential. Some of these problems stared us in face, but we chose not to do something concrete about it. Instead of actions, we wish they will go away. Instead of redoubling our efforts in confronting the challenges headlong, we dodged them and they later come to haunt us.
Some of us were opportune to be told by those who are closer to us that we have lost greater ground, but saw no sense in what they were telling us. Some of us even went as far as cutting off relationships with people who are telling us the truth. We associated ourselves with those who are telling us what we want to hear; those that love what we have not who we are. And those people because of what they stand to gain in their relationships with us will never for once tell us that we were out of shape in all areas of our lives.
Some people are doing something instantly to fix those things they have realised as not right in their lives. They know they must fix those things that are broken in their lives. They are carefully examining their relationships and move with people who will tell them the truth. They are fizzling out friends who are interested in what they will get from them.
Some people are constantly asking themselves the areas of their lives they need to improve on. They are always on the lookout for negative habits that need replacing. They are busy looking for behaviours that they are convinced must be changed. They are not comfortable with some attitudes and are applying their powers in changing them. When they slipped they are making bold steps to put them back on track for greatness.
They are only interested in hearing good news but bad news. They are not giving themselves to wishful thinking but actions. All they are doing are in moderation. They eat, sleep, and have fun moderately. They are not giving to flamboyancy. Any anomaly they observe, they correct them without delays.
Some of us instead of pushing for something, we allow circumstances and people around us to push us around. We are allowing ourselves to be boss around by situations and people around. We have completely surrendered our inner strength to the circumstances and the people around us. We are allowing them to push us here and there like a leave that is being pushed by the waves of the water.
What are the areas we need to change if we want to go places? What are those things in our lives we need to take control of if we want to do great exploits? What are the areas of our lives we need to have keen interest in and work tirelessly to catch up? Change is inevitable; the earlier we change the better for us. No short-cut to weaknesses;
