Finish Me: A Beautiful Revelation of the “Finished” You
()
About this ebook
In Finish Me: A Beautiful Revelation of the Finished You, Kevin A. Johnson shows that God has a finished plan for our lives, although our imperfect circumstances seem to dictate differently. Just as God took seven days to complete His creation as shown in the Book of Genesis, God works faithfully in the lives of Christian believers to bring them to the finish He desires for them.
Apostle Johnson demonstrates, through sound wisdom, that the sum total of our lives is not in the way in which our lives might have begun, but is fully discovered in the way in which our lives are finished. He wants us to realize that dealing with the experiences of poverty, sexual abuse, verbal abuse, depression, or rape does not mean that our lives are over. Rather, he implores us to believe that God has a far more perfect finish for us, even though Satan has hit us with such darkened chaos. The author also wishes for us to understand that God has millions of days of continuous sunshine for every infrequent scary and dark moment of our lives.
Author Kevin A. Johnson, of Nashville, Tennessee, is a popular speaker and is the author of other books on living a Christian life of vision, purpose, and joy. He is a passionate servant of his God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We must know that even in the midst of our worst chaos, there exists an unseen supernatural blueprint of what we are truly meant to become. Kevin A. Johnsons Finish Me: A Beautiful Revelation of the Finished You inspires us to believe in and completely accept this truth.
Kevin A. Johnson
Apostle Kevin A. Johnson is a Born-Again worshipper of God. He is a native of the Bahamas and is the son of Samuel Johnson (deceased) and Ms. Maud Dorcas Stubbs. Apostle Johnson is married to the former Terrah L. Rolle, and together they have been blessed with five beautiful children-Zoe, Rachel, Sarah, Benjamin, and David. Apostle Johnson lives in Nashville, Tennessee and is in partnership with his wife in their ministry and company called, ‘Just Breathe Ministries, LLC’ . He and his wife are the God-appointed leaders of this conference-style world outreach ministry. Apostle Kevin Johnson has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology, with a minor in Pastoral Studies. He graduated ‘Magna Cum Laude’ from the American Baptist Theological Seminary in 1997, with two ‘Who’s Who’ Among Students In American Universities & Colleges. He also received special recognition for outstanding service by Governor Don Sundquist, a former Governor of the State of Tennessee, on January 15th, 1997. Apostle Johnson believes that God, by His Holy Spirit, has given spiritual gifts and physical talents to His people of faith. However, it is the responsibility of these people of faith to use His gifts and talents for the expressed purpose of promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ, strengthening the Church, and affecting the sinful world with the miraculous power of God. According to Apostle Johnson, these spiritual gifts and physical talents should not be used for the promotion of human egos or for making God’s servants into objects of worship. His spiritual philosophy can be summed up in this simple statement: “In order for any life to have a good end, it must be lived by and through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit!” Should you wish to reach Apostle Kevin A. About The Author
I wish to dedicate this book to the awesome Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. He has made it possible for every Unfinished Sinner
to have complete access to an All-Powerful Finishing God. I also dedicate this book to all of you who will read this written account of an awesome God who can finish greatness within you and then instruct you how to guard what He has finished. It is my sincere desire that you will allow God to make you a finished work
of heavenly and spiritual art.
Introduction
One day a gifted artist started to paint the historical portrait of a very wealthy lady. As he worked, she patiently held her formal pose, knowing she was paying a lot for this work of art. The artist ran the soft paintbrush over the rough canvas, making the paint seem to come to life. After some time, he stopped and then covered up the work he had done. The woman was surprised to see him do this. She wondered whether she would ever have a completed portrait. She asked if he was finished. The artist, laughing within himself as he turned to respond to the question, said that just because something was covered up did not mean it was finished. The reason he chose to cover the unfinished piece of art, he said, was that it would protect the portions that were already finished until the whole work was completed.
God is just like the artist in this story. He has a finished plan for our lives and keeps us covered enough so that He can safely finish His design for us and within us. When we were sinners, He gave us a grace covering that kept us safe until He could reach us with His life-changing Gospel. Then when we accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, He covered us with a new and living spirit-formed life, giving us time to learn how to live out all that He has placed within us. He is constantly painting on the canvas of our unfinished lives and then covering those areas upon which He has already artistically spread His supernatural paint, in order to protect them from damage until the whole work of art is complete.
This allows us to realize that we are not yet finished. We must also know that we are responsible for guarding all that God is finishing! We, however, are still a work in progress. In order for us to reach that beautiful Finish
of God, we are going to have to allow the Holy Spirit to work within us, and we are going to have to work the works of obedience and submission.
We must know that every great artist needs a great canvas. The canvas allows the artist complete and full license to paint whatever it is that he wants to paint and to finish a work of art in the manner in which he so chooses. We must be that great canvas for God! We need to not only place our lives into God’s hands for Him to begin the work of salvation within us but also to allow Him to paint the full character and power of Jesus Christ all over our lives.
Therefore, we should be on Earth all that Jesus is in Heaven. We must never stop thirsting after God, until all that we release through our lives is Jesus, Jesus, and more Jesus. We are not finished—and will not be finished—until we are completely overflowing with all of the righteous attitude and power of Jesus.
Our God, who stretched out the creation of all things over a period of seven days, is the same God who takes His own time to finish all that He has started within us. God took all this time in creating the universe so that we could get a clear picture that greatness takes time to create. This also reveals to us that our becoming like Jesus will never be an overnight event. What God is making us takes awesome time and care. Although God can save us in one second, it can literally take a lifetime for us to become what He has envisioned for us. This is because God is perfect, but we are not. Sometimes the work of perfecting us takes a long time because of our lack of faith or our lack of obedience. All of this causes delays in the spiritual progress of God in our lives.
Thus, just as God took several days to complete creation, it is going to take many seasons of God working and reworking the clay-form of our lives until we become spirit-formed in every way. We must prepare ourselves for the reality that God’s making process takes patience and time. This is examined in the first part of this book.
The second part of the book addresses how we walk with God through to the finish He has for us. God’s full intention is not just to rescue us but also to form us into the image of our Rescuer: Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must strive to guard our new and living spirit from listening to the wrong voices and dangerous words. We need to put up No Trespassing
and No Loitering
signs all around the works of God in our lives. We have to hide—deep in our inner spirit—all the wonderful things of God until it is the right time for them to be unveiled by Him and
