INTRODUCTION

When one writes a forward, do they also need to write a backward?

Okay – so that sounds a little crazy, but it might define the way I look at life sometimes. I try to see the lighter side. People who don’t know me might think I do not take life seriously but, the truth be known, it is quite the opposite!

I am deeply passionate about every aspect of my life. My relationship with my daughters and friends is of utmost importance to me. They are blessings to be treasured. My direction in my workday is to do the best I can with the talents and abilities God has given to me. For God’s word says Whatever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might… Ecclesiastes 9:10

Yet my most passionate of relationships is of that with my Heavenly Father. He consumes my soul and my heart’s desire is that everyone would know Him. His faithfulness has been apparent in my life through the best of times and the worst of times. There is nothing more important to me in life than to know Christ and walk with Him daily. And because of that, all other aspects of my life carry more passion with them…so as to do all things unto Him.

My prayer is that as you read the pages to follow, you would take time to ask God what He wants you to learn from them. He has given me these words to share, and I know He wants you to hear His voice through them. I also pray that your love for Him would increase every day. May you become more aware of His presence in every aspect of your life so that each day might be even sweeter than the one before.

PREFACE

Imagine the biggest buffet line in your favorite restaurant.

Imagine every entree offered there before you, and you can have whatever you want.

Now turn around and look at the desserts. Yummy, right?

You can choose! Entree or dessert? Which would you like to have first? I mean, what if you eat so much of the meat, veggies, salads and fruits that you don’t have any room left for those luscious yummy desserts? And how do you gauge how much you are eating in order to save room for them anyway?

On holidays our families gather and often find that we have more choices than we have room for on our plates! Just like that buffet, we look at those desserts and realize we are too full for them!

Yet, spiritually we often do the same thing. We fill up our plates with good and meaningful activities. As a result, there just isn’t any room left for time with our Father who sits patiently waiting for us to come to Him. The sweetest of all relationships is there if we have time.

I encourage you to take some time to think about this. We can invest our time and energies in worthwhile projects and causes. Yet, if we fail to give time to God’s Word and spend time in prayer with Him then we really cheat ourselves. It’s
