Each one might tell a different story.
I write the things You put into my heart,
And hope it will help someone get a new start.

Bless each of these poems in a special way,
That others might hear what You have to say.
I tell of things that I feel inside,
And I want to share my feelings far and wide.

Keep sending the thoughts to me here below,
And I will keep telling about the gifts You bestow.
How Christ came down from above to show us the way,
To be with Him in heaven some glorious day.

I would like to dedicate this book to my church family. Many of them have helped me at times and never knew they had helped. When I have a bad day, someone will call and it will be just what I need to cheer me up. I thank You Lord for my Church family.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

There isn’t much to say about me. I grew up in Ronda, North Carolina and my parents were both Christians. They belong to Maple Springs Methodist Church and I became a member there when I was ten years old. I guess you could say they planted my feet on solid ground because my greatest love is working for my Lord. They taught me early that Church came before pleasure and if I had a date they had the pleasure of going to church with me.

I am now an old lady that loves to write poems. I would like to be the Grandma Moses of poetry, but if I am never that good it is OK because God has given me the joy of writing. My grammar is bad and my spelling too but for some reason I still love to try to write. Most of my poems are Spiritual but sometimes God gives me the words for humor. I have two children and three step-children and a husband that never complains when I spend so much time writing poems. I hope everyone that reads my poems enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed writing them. May God send His blessings on all that read my books.

A DAY FOR OTHERS

Lord, this is a day set aside for others,

First I need to think of my mother,

What does she need on this sunny day,

To help her find happiness in a special way?

I try to think what would bring a smile to her face,

And all I can think of is Your Love and Grace.

So maybe a visit would be better than anything I could do

To show her my love would always be true.

Thoughts of my husband so kind and sweet

Might need me his needs to meet.

So help me to be patient and love him each day

As You have taught me in Your loving way.

My children will always have a special place in my heart,

I need to tell them this so we will never part.

When leaving the home to start a new life

They need to know I am not full of strife.

They are now grown and have families of their own,

And most of my help is through prayer alone.

Each day I pray for Your guidance, please show them the way,

In all that they do from day to day.

Then there is my church and so much to do,

It seems so many are turning from You.

How can I help is all that I ask,

I want to be able to do the task.

A FORGIVING HEART

Lord help me to have a forgiving heart.

Please don’t let me be the one to gossip and start,

Tales that would cause another to turn from You,

And Oh, never let me be unkind or untrue.

The dictionary says forgiving means to pardon or excuse,

And the bible says if I will confess my transgressions to the Lord

I will not be refused.

Peter asked Jesus, "how often shall I forgive my brother if he sins

against me"?

Would seven times be enough for Thee?

What Jesus told Peter was being said to all,

And we must listen and obey if we are waiting for His call.

We must forgive seventy times seven and His love we must show,

If we are to work for Him down here below.

How can we spread the good news about Christ?

If we can’t forgive how can we give advice?

When I look into my heart and see bitterness there

The burden is so great and that I can’t bear.

It is such a good feeling when I forgive someone,

That I wonder why I waited and I’m glad it has been done.

For now we are friends again you see,

And Christ’s love can flow to you and me.

Help me Lord to have a forgiving heart each day

And never let anger eat my love away.

Help me show Your
