Influential Spirits: Constructive and Destructive Spirits That Influence the Christian Woman
By Jennifer R. Price and Kesha T. Hinton
()
About this ebook
Most of the churches authors Kesha Hinton and Jennifer Price have attended have more female than male members, a fact that many single sisters find thoroughly irritating. They believe that because these ladies spend so much time together in the service of the Lord, they should be more loving and accepting of one another. Instead of unity and harmony, however, there is frequently strife, fighting, arguing, complaining, jealousy, envy, and impatience.
In Influential Spirits, Kesha and Jennifer take a comical yet serious look at the various spiritual personalities you may find among the women in any Christian church. Through hilarious and at times harrowing descriptions of each spirit, they discuss the spiritual attributes that uplift and those that tear down. They describe how these attributes are developed and maintained by women in the church, and they give suggestions of how to be transformed from a destructive spirit into a constructive spirit. Also included are scriptural references and prayers that you can use when faced with either challenges or joy. The Scriptures provide the critical information needed to rise above the negative influences in our lives.
Take a fun and insightful spiritual journey with Kesha and Jennifer into Influential Spirits.

I would first like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; you alone are worthy of all the praise.
To my husband/pastor, Lonnie and our 4 wonderful children, Majia, Koryn, Joshua, and Jordan, I appreciate your patience and love during this process; I would not be as motivated if it weren’t for you: my family, my unit, my support.
I would be remiss in failing to thank my parents, Pastor Gilbert and First Lady Dollie Anderson (Grace Tabernacle MBC, Flint, MI), my sister, Mrs. Tareylon Avery, my sisters in Christ, First Lady Lisa Bowers (Calvary Faith Center, Columbus, MS), Mrs. Carla Thomas, First Lady Renee Simon (Shady Grove Baptist Church, Aliceville, AL), and Mrs. Ayunna Dompreh for having patience with me during my brainstorming sessions, and constant telephone calls and emails.
Thank you to future author Mark Jolly, your proofreading was invaluable!
And to you, Ms. Jennifer Price, my little sister in age, but my big sister in wisdom, I thank God for placing you in my life. I love you sis!
Jennifer
Thank You, Jesus from here, to forever, and back again.
Thanks Albert and Marean, better known as Mom and Dad - there’s no me without you. Thanks Jerm - love you always lil bro.
Thanks Bishop and Pastor Johnson - your service and labor of love helped me to see who I am long before I had any level of vision of my own. Thank you to the Bethlehem Temple and Southeast Christian church families - both have greatly helped to mold and shape me into the woman I am today. And to my KLM church family especially - these past 9 years have been the most revelatory, eye-opening years of my life. I look forward to going on to bigger and better things with you.
And to my big sister Kesh……..it feels like we’ve been pals forever. It was worth all the drama to meet and keep a true friend like you; I love you and the family always.
Our sincerest gratitude goes to those who submitted stories for this project. We thank you for you candor and disclosures; this book couldn’t have been so personal without you.
Preface
This book is not intended to shame or ridicule Christian women. It is meant to educate and amuse at the same time. Take your time, read it, and have fun with it, because we sure had fun writing it.
Commit to studying the scripture references as you read the chapters. This guide is useless if you don’t gain all the knowledge that God has concerning these characters. You will know how to deal with them in the future because God will show you the way!
Unless you have a trusted confidante, do not share your thoughts about who in your group has been influenced by destructive spirits. Others may not agree, and you may lose a friend or create friction with another person.
If we happen to describe you in this book (which we may, because we have described some of our own behaviors), don’t get upset. Just keep reading, and you’ll discover ways to change. If we don’t describe you, that’s because this is only volume 1; we’ll get you next time.
This is a good tool to use at family gatherings, but only if your family likes to have fun. We don’t want you to initiate a family feud.
Please pray for yourselves and others as we all continue to labor for Christ. Whenever you identify a sister who exhibits one or more destructive behaviors, pray for her immediately; she needs it.
Your Introduction to Influential Spirits
We have been in the presence of many truly amazing women of God and also have felt the coldness of some less-than-palatable spirits. We have had some great experiences as children and young women, and many downright, out-of-body, crazy, Calgon, take me away
experiences. Now, don’t get us wrong; we know that we should not wrestle against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). But we admit that we want to scratch some flesh and see some blood every now and then. Yes, we are saved, and the love of Jesus is flowing in our hearts. But at times, his followers’ destructive spirits have made it difficult to defer to him for vengeance.
Most churches that we have attended have more female than male members, a fact that our many single sisters find thoroughly irritating. We believe that because we ladies spend so much time together in the service of the Lord, we should be more loving and accepting of one another. Instead of unity and harmony, however, there is frequently strife, fighting, arguing, complaining, jealousy, envy, and impatience. 2 Timothy 3:1–5 NKJV tells us this:
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people
