Stuart Skeete

Stuart Skeete was born in England. He went to school and stayed in the Caribbean for 7 years, where he developed his talent in writing. Throughout his negative experiences in his school life, that triggered him to receive the inspiration to start writing poetry. The first poem that he wrote was entitled “The Emotion.” The author would like to thank the readers for involving themselves on the book, and he hopes that whatever negative experiences they are going through, there is a positive way out. The Emotions

The world is moving too fast

The hatred towards others grows like a parasite devouring its prey

People disregard love towards each other like leprosy.

I feel isolated like a huge glacier on the ocean

My body feels empty like a dried up desert

My heart beats but there’s no rhythm

My mind is split apart. Thoughts and dreams are clouded

The loneliness surrounds my body like the sky covers the earth

There seems to be no escape

I am trapped. There is no cure

Caged like a bird in the sky

Freedom, what Freedom?

Sometimes I feel like an earthquake

Calm one minute and the next I am unstable

Anger bottled up like the molten lava inside a volcano

It can erupt at anytime. Destruction can occur everywhere

I say nothing is wrong but something is eating away at me,

I don’t know what.

Friends, ha! Some of them don’t know squat about the word

Traitors! Backstabbers! You’re stabbed in the back so many times the knife can’t go anywhere else.
