About this ebook

This book covers my life through the aftermath of a failed suicide attempt, through two tribulations from February 2003 to March 2011 and the period after that, through present day. The book's purpose is to convey divine messages to everyone.

I AM A MESSENGER. Ive give the reader a lot of Scripture, intertwined with my life events, good and bad. As the words go in the song Amazing Grace:

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

I was truly a wretch. I went through all kinds of Hell, I literally laughed at the Devil, and received the Grace of God. I hope my story will inspire you to get through tough times, when they arise.

    Luke 21:34–36

    Exhortation to Be Vigilant.

34"Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise. ¹ 35like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. 36Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.² "

When I see the elderly as I walk the streets of New York City, or anywhere for that matter, I say a silent prayer that goes like this: May God bless the elderly as they blessed us with their kindness, love, patience, and guidance as we were growing up. I say this because the elderly deserve to be blessed, along with their caregivers, and they deserve our respect, more especially in a time when the Tea Party would put them on the budget-cut list.

I have no doubt that my parents are in heaven. As it says in Psalm 7:12, God is a just judge, powerful and patient, not exercising anger every day.

This book is dedicated to my parents, Raymond and Virginia Miller, who blessed me with their kindness, love, patience, and guidance, always.

    Prologue

    I Am a Messenger

    Revelation 1:1-3

1The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show his servants what must happen soon. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,³ 2who gives witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ by reporting what he saw. 3Blessed is the one⁴ who reads aloud and blessed are those who listen to this prophetic message and heed what is written in it, for the appointed time is near.⁵

Throughout the history of Christianity, people have tried to predict the end of days. Even St. Paul the Apostle thought it would occur in his lifetime. The fact is, God continually makes it clear through the Bible (Rev. 3:3, Rev. 16:15, Matt. 24:43, 1 Thess. 5:2, 2 Pet. 3:10, Luke 12:39) that he will come like a thief. Predictions are futile, so focus your energies on repentance and doing good deeds.

From Scripture, two great examples of God’s love for us come to mind:

    John 3:16

16For God so loved the world that he gave ⁶ his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.⁷

    2 Peter 3:8–10

8 ⁸ But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years⁹ and a thousand years like one day.¹⁰ 9The Lord does not delay his promise, as some regard delay, but he is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. ¹¹ 10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief,¹² and then the heavens will pass away with a mighty roar and the elements will be dissolved by fire, and the earth and everything done on it will be found out. ¹³

    Scoffers of Religion

Throughout the history of religion, there have been scoffers. THE LETTER OF JUDE, the last letter of the Catholic Letters before the Book of Revelation, is addressed in the most general terms to those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept safe for Jesus Christ (Jude 1), hence apparently to all Christians. But since its purpose is to warn the addressees against false teachers, the author must have had in mind one or more specific Christian communities located in an unidentified region where the errors in question constituted a danger.

    Jude 17–23

17But you, beloved, remember the words spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,¹⁴ 18for they told you, ¹⁵ In [the] last time there will be scoffers who will live according to their own godless desires.¹⁶ 19These are the ones who cause divisions; they live on the natural plane, devoid of the Spirit.¹⁷ 20But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith; pray in the holy Spirit.¹⁸ 21Keep yourselves in the love of God and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. ¹⁹ ²⁰22On those who waver, have mercy; 23save others by snatching them out of the fire; on others have mercy with fear, ²¹abhorring even the outer garment stained by the flesh.

Regardless of the meanings of particular saints, bringing as many as possible into repentance before the end of the age may be a desperate case, but it is no lost cause.

The underlying message throughout this book is that all peoples of all nations and all tongues should take advantage of the second chance that God has provided us all.

    Who Am I?

My name is Gary Ray Miller, I was born on October 2, 1960, to a father named Raymond, who was a carpenter, and to a beautiful mother named Virginia (nicknamed Gina). The venue of this blessed event was the maternity ward of a hospital named after the patron saint of the universal Church, Prudent Guardian of the Holy Family, and Protector of God’s Holy Church, Saint Joseph.

People tend to throw around the name Antichrist (or the beast) to literally describe those they hate, like the forty-fourth president of the United States, who is an African American (see Rev. 6:5–6). You need not worry about Barack Hussein Obama being the Antichrist. The fact of the matter is both political parties have serious moral failings that need to be corrected. You do need to worry about the entity described in Revelation 6:7–8. It may not come in the form of a president, but rather a legislative body or political movement that cares not about God nor their fellow man, but rather idolatrous pleasures (see Rom. 1:18–32 and 2 Tim. 3:1–9). However, these symptoms of idolatry are on both sides of the aisle.

I watched a Republican debate during which the crowd laughed and exclaimed, Yes! when Rep. Ron Paul was asked if someone without health insurance should be allowed to die. I constantly read of Republican candidates (especially Tea Party candidates) denouncing climate change. I read the speech of the CEO of ExxonMobil saying that we can adapt to climate change or we can engineer our way out of it (for the sake of ExxonMobil’s shareholders?). In all three instances, I see the similarities to Revelation 11:1–14, the story of the two witnesses, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE), in which the beast conquered and killed them because of their witnessing to Almighty God. The inhabitants of the earth then celebrated their deaths. We live in troubled times, and the battle lines between good and evil are quickly being drawn.

Each of the letters of the alphabet in Hebrew as well as in Greek has a numerical value. The Greek form of whose name in Hebrew letters gives the required sum (See Rev. 13:18 and associated notes). I take the simple approach of translating my name to Greek letters and applying the Greek numbering system to the letters. As you can see, the result is not the six hundred and sixty-six of the beast.

    Total = 1820

Eighteen is the Hebrew life number

Revelation 1:8 says, I am the Alpha and the Omega, ²² says the Lord God, the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty. ²³

    Revelation 18:20 says,

    Rejoice over her, heaven,

    you holy ones, apostles, and

    prophets.

For God has judged your case against her."²⁴

Assigning English numerical values to my initials

Seven symbolizes God’s totality and perfection. In Genesis 2, God created Heaven and Earth and their entire array in six days and rested from all his work on the seventh day, blessing and making it holy.

    Eighteen: See above.

Thirteen: The letter M represents the Virgin Mary on the Miraculous Medal. There were thirteen men at the Passover (Last) Supper: twelve apostles and Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:3 says, "Blessed is the one²⁵ who reads aloud and blessed are those who listen to this prophetic message and heed what is written in it, for the appointed time is near.²⁶ "

I have lived in small towns named Delta, Rome, and Shiloh.
