About this ebook

Who buys these lies?

There is no God.

If you do more good than bad, youll go to Heaven.

When you die, you will be reincarnated.

David and Jonathan were homosexuals.

The pope is infallible.

Jesus Christ was just a man.

All religions are really the same.

Heaven and Hell are only states of mind.

Isaiah 53 refers to the Jewish people, not to Jesus Christ.

There are many ways to God.

The Lord Jesus Christ said of Satan, When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44). In this spiritually seductive and dangerous age, there is no dearth of the devils falsehoods. Which ones do you believe?

It has been said that no lie can live forever, but lies from the pit of Hell will prevent you from living forever with the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Now more than ever, in this undiscerning time of tolerance, we must identify and condemn the devils counterfeits, regardless of who is offended.

This compilation of religious and moral lies and their refutations will inform as well as offend both un-awakened sinners and soft-theology Christians, provoking them to seek the truth of Gods Word and the salvation that is only in His Sonfor outside of Gods Kingdom, writhing in eternal fire, will be whosoever loveth and maketh a lie (Revelation 22:15).

    Introduction

    Lies from the Pit

    Truth from God’s Word

For Those Who Still Trust False Religion

    Introduction

And the serpent said unto the woman,

Ye shall not surely die. (Genesis 3:4)

Ever since that encounter in the Garden, mankind has fallen for every religious and moral lie imaginable. As they have for thousands of years, men still worship and serve false gods of their own making. In his zeal to be his own god, man prefers religious lies over the only true Lord, and in his unmitigated arrogance calls God a liar. But whenever man contradicts God, man is wrong.

Many believe that God isn’t always good; that Jesus Christ sinned; that God pre-programmed most of humanity for damnation; that the Bible is no better than man’s array of religious texts; and that it is acceptable to use the Lord’s holy name as a curse word. They paint God with all the colors of the rainbow, boldly declaring that He blesses sodomite marriage.

Amid the onslaught of religious and moral lies and their widespread acceptance, where is the church? Alas, too much of it isn’t engaging the world but is engaged to the world. Many professing Christians have accepted sinners’ out-of-context admonition, Judge not! It is easier to love a lie that soothes itching ears (2 Timothy 4:3) than it is to stand for the Truth.

Rather than remain true to the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, purpose-driven clergy officiate seeker-sensitive worship services, urging bold action on global warming instead of global missions, on ecumenism instead of evangelism. In lieu of repentance, faith in Jesus Christ alone, the second birth, baptism, sanctification and personal holiness, trendy pastors preach that self-esteem, self-love, self-fulfillment and self-discovery are man’s greatest needs and highest goals.

Instead of teaching laity about stewardship, tithing, and praying Thy will be done, heretics in high pulpits speak of God as a genie who lavishes them with money, mansions, perpetual happiness and perfect health at their command.

Rather than crying aloud and sparing not any and all warnings to their drunken, fornicating, godless peers about God’s judgment and wrath to come, some Christians on university campuses display banners reading FREE HUGS. (Can you imagine the apostle Paul standing on Mars Hill and proclaiming that message?)

One of today’s most prevalent deceptions is that Jesus Christ isn’t the only Way to God even though He said, I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me (John 14:6). The wretched, feel-good lies of universalism and pluralism have successfully extinguished many holy fires of evangelism. Jews who reject Christ are condemned to the same eternal Immolation as Gentiles who spurn Him, but adherents of dual covenant theology refuse to share the Gospel with them.

Muslims, New Agers, Hindus, Jainists, Sikhs, Buddhists and countless others are blindly following their Christless spiritual path unto everlasting destruction (1 Thessalonians 1:8-9) but, like worldly folk, some professing Christians claim that those people are going to Heaven no matter what they believe, as long as they are sincere.

Cults masquerading as Christianity do brutal violence to the Word of God although they have the temerity to support their heresies with the Word of God. Whether headquartered in Rome, Salt Lake City, or Brooklyn, they are merely the devil’s Pied Pipers marching their naïve followers down the broad highway to eternal doom.

    And all because of LIES.

The Truth gives life, but lies destroy. The Truth sets men free (John 8:32), but lies enslave. The Truth saves souls (James 1:21), but lies damn them. There is no coexistence between God’s Truth and Satan’s lies. No lie is of the Truth (1 John 2:21). Even when Satan says something true (Matthew 4:6), his intent is always to deceive and destroy. God, however, cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18)!

To Christian readers: In this age of relativism, postmodernism and atheist evangelism, those of you who refuse to take God at His Word and cast doubt on the Scriptures are supplying unbelievers with ammunition in their fight against the Lord. When you believe the same things as the damned about God and the Bible, then they will feel vindicated instead of uncomfortable in their sin and unbelief.

You can’t snatch sinners from Hell’s flames (Jude 23) if you are clinging to lies from that very same Pit! Today’s popular let’s-make-friends-with-the-world approach is enmity with God (James 4:4) that dilutes the authority of Scripture and empties the cross of its saving power. Concessions with sinners will never produce true converts to Christ who love Him, abhor the wicked world, take the Gospel to the lost, and seek God’s face.

Everyone, prepare to be offended by this book—but I pray that you will one day allow the Holy Spirit to convict you of your sin, false theologies, and willful ignorance as well as your immorality. If you believe Satan’s lies, then you won’t believe God’s Truth.

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies (Psalm 40:4).

    Lies from the Pit

    There is no God.

There is no God. There’s no heaven. There’s no hell. There are no angels. When you die, you go in the ground; the worms eat you. –Madalyn Murray O’Hair.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God (Psalm 14:1a, Ps. 53:1a). To declare that there is no God, you need infinite, absolute knowledge, which no human being possesses. The only infinite thing about atheists is their arrogance.

The Bible is full of contradictions.

God’s Word appears to contradict itself in many places (e.g., Proverbs 26:4 and 26:5), but instead of dismissing it, we should think, These are things I don’t understand yet. Because it is the Word of infinite God to finite man, parts of the Bible can be difficult to comprehend, but explanations of its difficulties are available to earnest truth-seekers.

See for example Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties by Gleason L. Archer; Alleged Discrepancies of the Bible by John Haley; The Big Book of Bible Difficulties and When Critics Ask: A Popular Handbook on Bible Difficulties, both by Norman L. Geisler & Thomas Howe; and New International Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties by Gleason L. Archer Jr. Typically, people who claim that the Bible contradicts itself are upset because it contradicts them. They don’t understand God’s Word, and don’t want to (Psalm 119:155).

Christianity owes its existence to ancient pagan religions.

Let’s assume for a minute that [Jesus] foretold his resurrection. Are you ignorant of the multitudes who have invented similar tales to lead simple minded hearers astray? It is said that Zamolxis, Pythagoras’ servant, convinced the Scythians that he had risen from the dead…and what about Pythagoras himself in Italy!—or Rhampssinitus in Egypt. The last of these, by the way, is said to have played dice with Demeter in Hades and to have received a golden napkin as a present from her. Now then, who else: What about Orpheus among the Odrysians, Protesiaus in Thessaly and above all Heracles and Theseus. –Celsus (ca. 25 B.C. – ca. 50 A.D.)

Christianity owes its existence to Jesus Christ. God has said, But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto Me that is to be Ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting (Micah 5:2). See Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6, 53:1-12; Jeremiah 23:5; 33:15, and many other prophecies in Scripture about the Lord Jesus Christ.

When we find messianic figureheads in man’s ancient religions, it doesn’t mean that Christianity is a copycat faith; it proves that God has created man with an awareness of his need for a divine savior—someone who is more than human, saves man from his hopeless plight, ultimately punishes evildoers, defeats death, and grants immortality to his followers. God gave every human being in the world a measure of faith (Romans 12:3)!

    People are inherently, basically good.

Ever since Pierre Omidyar founded eBay, we’ve stayed true to some core values: We believe people are basically good. –eBay Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Introduction.

    God knows better:

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually….The imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth (Genesis 6:5, 8:21, cf. Ecclesiastes 9:3).

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9).

…Those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man (Matthew 15:18-20a, cf. Mark 7:15, 18, 20-23).

There are many ways to God.¹, ², ³

    1. I am a Christian who thinks there are many more paths to God than Christianity. I am a free-thinking Christian. –Oprah Winfrey.

Sadly, Ms. Winfrey’s words prove that she isn’t a Christian at all, for Jesus said, I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me (John 14:6). …Every knee should bow…and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord… (Philippians 2:10-11).

    2. WE BELIEVE GOD IS GOING TO SAVE CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS, BUDDHISTS, HINDUS, CATHOLICS, PROTESTANTS AND JEWS—ALL RELIGIOUS PEOPLE. Gerald Flurry, Do We Attack Other Religions? The Philadelphia Trumpet, Vol. 15, No. 7, August 2005, p. 1, all caps his.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

    3. …I am a Christian. That is my faith. I’m not asking you to be a Christian. If you want to be one I can show you how. But it is not required. I have respect for all faiths. All faiths. But what I’m talking about is not faith or religion. I’m talking about spirituality. Oprah Winfrey, in Jennifer LeClaire, Oprah Winfrey: ‘I Am a Christian,’ www.charismanews.com/us/33290-oprah-winfrey-i-am-a-christian 2:20 p.m. EDT, 4/26/2012.

Enter ye in at the strait Gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the Gate, and narrow is the Way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:13-14).

You can live any way you please and still inherit God’s Kingdom.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall NOT inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21, cf. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

    ■ "[Outside of the Kingdom] are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie" (Revelation 22:15). See also Matthew 24:48-51; Matt. 25:1-3, 8, 11-12, 41-46a; Mark 10:15, 17-25; Luke 12:16-21, 45-46.

Sinners will have the opportunity to be saved after they die; but before that, most will repent.

"God uses…suffering to bring men to repentance—even if they die and must repent after they are resurrected from the dead. God has an inspiring plan to save humanity…God is also going to save nonbelievers when they repent, and most of them will. Gerald Flurry, Do We Attack Other Religions?" The Philadelphia Trumpet, Vol. 15, No. 7, August 2005, p. 1, italics his.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the Judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

Enter ye in at the strait Gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the Gate, and narrow is the Way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it (Matthew 7:13-14).

    Revelation 9:20-21; 16:9-11.

Islam is a religion of peace; after all, the word Islam means peace.

Wrong. The word salaam means peace. Islam actually means submission to Allah. And Islam never was, is not, and never will be, a peaceful religion:

I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: you smite above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them. The Qur’an, Surah 8:12, Abdullah Yusuf Ali translation (Elmhurst, NY: Tahrike Tarsile Qur’an, Inc., 11th ed., 2003), p. 108.

Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which has been forbidden by Allah and his Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (Surah 9:29, Yusuf Ali, p. 116.)

The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth (Psalm 11:5). A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the Pit; let no man stay him (Proverbs 28:17). Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you" (James 5:6).

In eternity past, God decreed would be saved and who would be damned,¹ according to his capricious pleasure,² so nothing they choose in their lives will make any difference;³, ⁴ people whom God made to be unsaved before birth will glorify him in their damnation,⁵ since he deliberately doomed them to that judgment.⁶

    1. By predestination we mean the eternal decree of God, by which he determined with himself whatever he wished to happen with regard to every man. All are not created on equal terms, but some are preordained to eternal life, others to eternal damnation; and, accordingly, as each has been created for one or other of these ends, we say that he has been predestinated to life or to death. John Calvin, Institutes of the Christian Religion, Book III, Chapter 21, paragraph 5.

The Lord…is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). "…[Satan] hath blinded the minds of them which believe not…" (2 Corinthians 4:4). Satan—not the Lord!

    2. We say, then, that Scripture clearly prove this much, that God by his eternal and immutable counsel determined once for all those whom it was his pleasure one day to admit to salvation, and those whom, on the other hand, it was his pleasure to doom to destruction. Calvin, Institutes, III, 21, 7.

…I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the LORD God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye (Ezekiel 18:32, cf. 33:11). If God has no pleasure in a sinner’s physical death, how could He have pleasure in his or her eternal, spiritual death?

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost…If a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in Heaven, that one of these little ones should perish (Matthew 18:12-14, cf. Luke 15:4-6).

    3. …Rejection does not occur on the basis of works. Institutes, III, 23, 11.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works (Revelation 20:12-13).

    4. The sum of all is this: One in twenty (suppose) of mankind are elected; nineteen in twenty are reprobated. The elect shall be saved, do what they will: the reprobate shall be damned, do what they can. Reader, believe this, or be damned. Augustus Toplady (18th century Anglican priest), The Doctrine of Absolute Predestination Stated and Asserted tract.

"[God] will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance
