Foreword
When Almighty God created the heaven and the earth and formed Adam from the dust of the earth, he was clean and pure and having not conceptualized sin, he would be able to fulfill God’s purpose here on earth. However, the devil had another plan and perceiving the innate, sinful nature of mankind, succeeded in materializing a plan for them to fall. Heartbroken and grief- stricken, Adam and his wife were forced out of Eden, a place of peace and splendor to a place of despair and alienation. Adam has no merit or attestation in which to argue role confusion because God His creator had clearly defined and oriented him to his purpose. When man falls short or ends up in trouble, it is an easy cop out to blame God. It gratifies us to simply displace blame and we don’t mind blaming anything or anyone closest to our reach. Humans dispel the responsibility they have in adhering to wise counsel in addition to divine guidance accessible to them in Holy Scriptures.
In her book, Dr. Charmane Gayle-Peart epitomizes the pathogenic societal influences that instigate the self-defeating imagery young men develop but she also prescribes a reconciliatory and preventative approach to maintain a revitalizing and close relationship with God.
Also most importantly, young men must lead prayerful lives so that they will be more apt to discern the devil’s devises. They must be aware of captivating and savory perfumed women who send them subliminal messages. They must be careful about how they record and process these sexual signals. They must rely on an omniscient God who will help them navigate through the chaotic and confusing maze of life. And simply because our society is fiercely bombarded with the wrong type of music, profanity, sex, greed and other forms of seductive overtures, Dr. Peart brilliantly clarifies spiritually sound strategies about how young men can define their purpose outside the walls of sexual desire. The liberal mentality and culture of a society can only be changed when conscientious young men decide to take a stand for God and to conceptualize that their bodies are not mere pieces of meat to be consumed by the emotional fury or hormonal hunger they might have towards the opposite sex.
Arguably, earthly living subjects us to scaring but it shouldn’t imply that we give into our feelings and throw our hands up in self-defeat. That’s why a book of this caliber is pivotal and indispensible in the compilation of practical solutions to shape desirable character and strengthen one’s relational ties to God. Strong Sons: The Tunnel Journey is just one of those books that do
