However, it is often the people we least expect that make the best leaders. Its not necessary to have any of the above qualities but the one prerequisite to being a good youth leader is to have a passion for the young people and love for God.

Young people respect integrity and will eventually come to realize that you are on their side!

    Foreword

I expect to spend the rest of my life in the future. And I want to be reasonably sure of what kind of future it’s going to be. Therefore, this is my reason for planning. Listen to what proverbs 22:6, say’s about this future. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from It.

I am sure with that statement coming from the author; you have or will invest in what I believe will be a great future for the youth or our nation.

As for me, I was blessed to have in my congregation coming from an Apostle background, Evangelist Mildred Spencer and family. As our ministry received the grace of God and we began to grow, we were blessed to have large members of youth. After observing Evangelist Spencer, I became aware of and began to recognize her many spiritual gifts and talents, particularly in the area of the youth. I noticed that young people cling to her and she had the ability to communicate with them on a level that caused them to experience spiritual change in their lives. Before being assigned any specific leadership

Responsibility, she would take the initiative of bringing the youth into a closer relationship with Christ. After I assigned her as Youth Coordinator of our ministry, with great enthusiasm and focus, she began to develop many programs for our youth’s spiritual enhancement. Over the years, she brought the youth to a level of spiritual growth that began to stagger our imagination. She had great insight and a wonderful sensitivity in the youth of our ministry. Obviously, many of the youth in the early days of our church are now adults and have families of their own. From time to time, I hear from them and they always share with me how they remember the things that were instilled in their lives by our Evangelist Spencer.

Evangelist Spencer has been given a unique gift and I believe that what she has chronicled in this book will provide great insight an assistance to those who have a heart for young people an it will be a tremendous blessing to anyone who desires to do God’s will in bringing young people into a real relationship with our Lord.

I am delighted to have asked to write my impression about this great woman of God and I encourage you to get this book and digest its contents because the future has a habit of suddenly and dramatically becoming the present. As you pour your life into those young people around you, you will and can look forward with confidence and courage, and not backward with regret.
