About this ebook

What are you seeking – love, happiness, peace, abundance? We are all seeking a better life for ourselves. However, all outward seeking is a reflection of something far more important – the inner seeking of our soul.

Our soul has an inner purpose that is common to every human being on the planet. This purpose has been given several names – the shift, spiritual change, awakening, enlightenment, unity consciousness and ascension. Knowingly or unknowingly, our inner spirit is on an expedition towards reconnecting with the universal consciousness or God-consciousness through awakening to the truth of its inner nature. When we consciously participate in this shift, we expedite this re-connection.

The shift is a simple process, if we allow change to flow through us and if we are able to trust our heart. In Shifting to Tao in 8 Months, 81 Verses, 81 Simple Lessons, Losita Bhattacharya recounts her own spiritual journey that created a shift in her thoughts, her consciousness and her view of life.

    My Story

In this book, Shifting into Tao: In 8 Months, 81 Verses, 81 Simple Lessons, I share the experiences of my spiritual journey, of discovering my path to my inner truth and my connection to The Source consciousness, by embracing the path of the Tao. Notice how the number eight repeats itself three times in my journey—888. If you have read Doreen Virtue’s Angel Numbers 101, you will know that this triple digit heralds the end of one phase and the beginning of another.

I hadn’t quite expected the intensity with which that change came, nor had I expected the speed at which my life would change. But it did.

Three years ago, in the midst of a family crisis, I started reading Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth. I had purchased the book many months before, read a few chapters, and then put it away, thinking it was too much, too soon for me. But in the midst of that crisis, with nothing else to hold on to, I happened to find the book on my shelf, and, with renewed interest, I started reading. This time the words hit me hard, and the book’s message seemed to have been written just for me. On one of my worst days, I read a couple of chapters that entirely resonated with me. I felt so energized that, in my excitement, I actually went out of the house wearing one shoe from two different pairs on each foot. I had only set out to go to a nearby store. About halfway through my errand, I noticed what I had done, but I felt amazingly calm about it. It was humorous, and I laughed mildly at myself, realizing that the outside world suddenly didn’t seem to matter so much. Something inside me had changed.

The family crisis had passed, and better days lay ahead. I took my time about progressing with my spiritual learning.

But life had other plans for me. A couple of years later, in October 2010, the alarms went off again, throwing my life into disarray. This time it was a full-blown spiritual crisis. I had absolutely no idea where it came from, or why, I only know that it did! I was watching some YouTube videos, and I came across an interview with Barbara Hand Clow. She was talking about the Pleiadian agenda and the Mayan calendar, and I thought, What in the world is Pleiades? I need to Google it!

Somehow I felt compelled to go to the library to find Barbara Hand Clow’s books and I picked up The Pleiadian Agenda: A New Cosmology for the Age of Light. In awe, I read it from cover to cover, even if I did not understand—or believe—anything that I read in those pages at that time. I have never been so obsessed with something that did not make sense to me. However, the book made me want to know more. So off I went, searching for more books, videos, blogs, and interviews to learn about what I had already read. I explored all sorts of topics, including the Mayan calendar and life beyond 2012.

If I had measured the amount of time I spent looking at videos from various teachers, experts, New Age philosophers, thinkers, and quantum physicists, I would have probably broken some sort of a world record. Reading and assimilating all of this information brought me to the point where I wanted to
