About this ebook
Fran Blackwell
Fran Blackwell had her Jazz beginnings in New Orleans where she fell in love with the form as well as with Jazz drummer Ed Blackwell, whom she married. They had 3 children, 9 grand-children and 11 great-grand-children, and growing. She cites Blackwell as the influence for her poetic style. A pivotal experience in her life was being arrested for miscegenation. In 1958 New Orleans society was intolerant of couples of mixed race. She knew growing up as a child, that the unjust segregation laws of the deep south could not be truth, and were in fact, an assault against Soul. This event was a catalyst for her to continue her search for Truth, no matter the cost. She began writing poetry later in life, as she found her inspiration for expressing the mystical. For the past 45 years she has studied the Spiritual teachings of Eckankar, practicing and living the spiritual principles which opened her heart to discovery and exploration of the mystical and spiritual worlds. Blackwell is the author of a previous book of poetry, Fingerprints of God. She has traveled the world as a speaker and workshop facilitator on spiritual topics, and devotes her life to a path of service and love. She currently lives in Florida.

About the Author
FOREWORD
In her second volume of poetry, the first being Fingerprints of God, Fran Blackwell has again dipped her pen in the ink of spiritual wisdom and written poetry to reflect these truths.
She indeed knows what the wild geese know, because she speaks that inimitable language of soul, of other world mystery, and tries to convey it into ordinary words.
These sparks of wisdom travel from her heart to the land of language and Fran lovingly allows us to accompany her on this journey. Her voice is unique.
This beautiful book of poetry is her gift to everyone who holds it…life jackets of wisdom on a turbulent sea.

MY HEART KNOWS WHAT THE WILD GEESE KNOW
The place beyond knowing,
the place where no direction known,
yet exists in the stories of the wind,
the unheard call, relentless in its sound.
And when the Heart hears, It follows,
for It knows beyond all knowing where It flies.
Makes no difference except in the experience,
north south east or west
where rivers run wild,
and the wind draws the Heart ever onward
knowing when It gets there, wherever there
is,
It won’t stay.
It can’t stay, for the restless
stillness drives It on and on into the wildness
of dreams untold,
and life unfolds in the journey.
The Heart in flight, day or night.
It will be all right,
for the trusting Heart
only knows to accept all that comes
and go on giving even when life
breaks Its wings.
On broken wings It flies
into the dawn of a new spiritual day.
It rises in wisdom gained, even through the pain.
Nothing stays the same, and nothing
from nothing leaves nothing.
And life is never the same,
For the Heart that knows what the wild geese know,
knows It is always homeward bound into the Sound
and Light, consumed by love.
It finds freedom in love.
High above this earthly world It sees all life
manifesting God’s Presence, and is compelled
to manifest this sacred presence wherever It goes.
Yes, the Heart knows and follows the
wind from the mountain of God, wherever it
blows, for it knows best.
For better or worse.
With no flight plan It goes,
and knows Its Self
found in the storms of life,
and in the gentle fall
of rain refreshing Its Consciousness.
In the ways of Its Divinity,
this is a Heart born to fly, not rest.
For the rest of the stories of life and love
are written in the wind and the stars.
Its flight is always Divine Love in Action.
Yes,
my Heart knows what the wild geese know
and my Heart goes where the wild wind blows
evermore.
Forever love, always love.
37895.pngSPIRITUAL SELF-CONFIDENCE
What do you seek in your life on a daily basis?
The approval, the praise of others?
The desire to please?
Are you aware that anything of notice regarding
what you do, how you do what you do,
when you do what you do, is empty of objectivity?
Just someone’s opinion, a judgment call.
And when your dependence is misplaced on
others for confirmation of your worthiness,
it shatters the heart.
It is unreliable at best; it is a sometime thing.
Every thought, word, deed, and even breath
must be devoted to know oneself,
to have absolute self-honesty
for all your actions,
then you know your truth,
nothing but the truth,
so God helps you.
