About this ebook

Studies show, that to this present day there are ultimately 29.2 million slaves in this world. And I was one of them.

For twenty-six years I couldnt say a word. I was kidnapped from reality and brainwashed by my captivators discretion. I have been beaten, bruised, mentally, physically, and sexually abused. I never thought I would get this opportunity, but here it is. I can acknowledge my ailments, knowing it could be worst and be appreciative for the strength I have left to fight. I am now free from what was and I can embrace whats to come. I can chase my dreams, because as of now, I am Delivered!

Author

Dawn Shaneá Clark

I am honored to have this opportunity to make known to others, something that I have been passionate about for a long time. Writing started for me when I was in the fourth grade. I have my fourth and fifth grade teachers to thank most of all, because they first gave me the opportunity to make my talent, my passion known. I love to help people feel more secure about themselves, on the inside and out. Aside from writing Deliverance: From Young and Restless to Bold and Beautiful, and currently working on a book of the same preference, poetry, titled, P.U.S.H.: Precise Understanding Summons Healing, I am an Independent Beauty Consultant. I believe the same beauty that we can possess and display on the outside can be developed and manifested on the inside.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to the struggles we go through in life… be they medical, emotional, relational, mental, or physical. We all have crosses to bear in life and sometimes, the only way to make it through is with faith and prayer.

After you’ve prayed about it, you sometimes have to vent and get the things off your chest that hold you down in depression, destructive behaviors, damaging addictions, and sadness. This was my way to vent and I hope you will be able to use it to achieve clarity on your own situations.

Ultimately, this book is for you, the conquering child of God who is pushing themselves onward and upward through the pains, trials and tribulations of chronic physical disease and depression.

    Acknowledgments

First, I have to thank my Heavenly Father who has seen me through trial after trial.

I am also truly grateful for my Mother’s and Grandmother’s undying love. Thank you for never giving up on me when it came to my success and endurance.

To my girlfriends: Monique Jackson, Cynthia Elaine, and Dani Simon, thanks for listening and helping me stay on the straight and narrow.  Cynthia you are the strongest woman I know and your persistence I admire and you’ve helped me mature in faith and self-worth.

To my mentors: Pastor Danny Darensbourg, Bishop Keith Clark, and Pastor Johnnie Clark Jr., thank you for your prayers, counseling, and tough love.

And last but definitely not least, I thank God for my great friend Jermaine Hughes who inspired me to write.  I learned a lot from him through his gift of writing.  And to the three men that have shown the most support in the midst of it all, Clarence E., Joshua Clark Sr., and Marvin Osborne. May God continue to bless and keep you.

    By God’s Grace

I can’t keep running from the same old things.

At this point in my life, it’s time to take all my burdens to the King of Kings.

    I’m tired…

Lord, you know the battles I have to face.

Please give me the strength to inhale, exhale, and embrace

All I feel I can’t handle without your Amazing Grace.

    I’m tired…

My biggest fear has always been rejection.

Is it because I’m ill? Am I not pretty enough, worthy enough? And then I take a look at my reflection

In the mirror… it reveals the truth.

It has nothing to do with one’s outer being; it’s what’s inside of you.

    I’m tired…

And so frustrated by who I am; it causes much disgust.

But having a better self-esteem and first accepting me for me is a must.

I know God loves me, for who I am

So why should I really give a damn about the opinion of man?

    Oops, that’s one of my weaknesses, using profanity;

This further lets me know I have to work on the inner me.

God knows I’m tired but I know He’ll never put more on me than I
