You may be asking, How do I keep my devotional times fresh? My response is to have your heart captivated by God.

The devotional pieces in this book are born out of quiet times with the Lord, spanning an eighteen year period. Some are based on ruminating over portions of Scripture. Others are sparked by thinking about Gods Person, and His attributes. As I wait, speaking to God and enjoying His Presence, there is a divine exchange. God captivates my heart and reveals Himself in such a way, that love for Him and sheer passion erupt and flow from my heart!

This passion keeps my times with God fiery and has helped to transform my life through the years. Walking with God has been refreshing, dynamic, full of joy and passion.

My prayer is that each devotional piece in this book will help to remove veils or hindrances, causing you to see God in a fresh way. As you sit with your Bible and this book, I want you to be drawn into a glorious encounter with the One Who loves you extravagantly. He will captivate your heart, filling it with unbridled love and passion!

Joy A Payne is a sought after conference speaker, preacher and teacher. She exhorts people to live passionate, whole and fulfilling lives. You may be asking, How do I keep my devotional times fresh? My response is to have a heart that is captivated by God. The devotional pieces in this book are born out of quiet times with the Lord, spanning an eighteen year period. Some are based on ruminating or mulling over portions of Scripture. Others are sparked by thinking about God’s Person, His character and attributes, writing my thoughts and then allowing God to use them to speak to me. As I wait in God’s Presence, speaking to Him and simply gazing upon Him in enjoyment, a divine exchange occurs. God captivates my heart and reveals Himself in such a way, that love for Him and sheer passion erupt and flow from my heart!

This passion has kept my times with God fiery and has helped to transform my life through the years. Walking with God, whether sitting at His feet in solitude or in the midst of a crowd, has been refreshing, dynamic, full of joy and passion. Meditating upon Christ, our Crucified Savior, and doing so with a fiery heart displaces the dead things in our lives, propelling us into living the newness of life that is available to all who are redeemed!

My prayer is that each devotional piece in this book will help to remove veils or hindrances, causing you to see God in a fresh way. As you sit with your Bible and this book, I want you to be ushered into God’s Presence, into a place of intimacy where God captivates your heart, allowing unbridled love for Him and intense passion to flow out!

INTRODUCTION

God’s Love Letter to His Children

Arise and Reign

My precious ones, I told you that the sin of one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But my wonderful grace and gift of righteousness are greater, as all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death, through My Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).

My gift of righteousness, that is, My salvation, makes it possible for each one of you to triumph over all that Satan was able to accomplish because of the door Adam’s sin opened. Now, I desire you to live triumphantly. My beloved ones, triumphant living is not just getting by, barely hanging on. I want you to reign victoriously, each day. This is why you need the ongoing revelation of Who I am and who you really are, children of the Living God, co-heirs with Christ.

My cherished ones, positionally, you are blessed and seated in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. You need to see yourself in that position: in Christ, above all thrones and dominions, whether visible or invisible. You really can do all things, in Christ Jesus! I want you to picture yourselves in this privileged position. Blessed in heavenly places means that you can rise above disappointments, pain, hurts, betrayals, fear, discouragement and offenses. Although you may be in the midst of a raging battle, you are to look with eyes of faith. You are seated way above all these things that try to pull you down. This is Satan at work, using strategy after strategy, in his attempt to destroy you. But Jesus, your Substitute, wants you to know what He has made available to you, through His death and glorious resurrection.
