Poems from the Heart - Dulce Alexandre

    My mother my heroin

Her love gave me strength and security

Her strong character gave me power

    Her kindness got my attention

    Her voice guides me always

That’s my mother, tell me about yours.

She believed in me when I could not

She rebuked me when I needed it

She carried me when I was unable to walk

She kissed me when I could not kiss her back

That’s my mother tell me about yours.

She was a friend when I needed one

She became a father when I didn’t have one

She was a mother when I have her still

She was all that I needed her to be

That’s my mother tell me about yours.

She was the role model I ever needed

Sweet and tender, strong yet fragile

    Decisive, assertive, gracious, and patient

    Carrying, amazing, compassionate and friendly

Though small in stature big inside

That’s my mother tell about yours.

In times strong, in times weak

In times quiet in times talkative

With a strong mind, she shaped mine

With her disciplinary character she disciplined me

    Her smile enlightened my life

    Her protection made me protective

    Her lessons stayed with me,

Her voice I will hear always

That’s my mother tell me about yours.

She could not give me any treasures

Yet she gave me everything I ever needed

She gave me values, she gave me herself.

She could see the king in the kid

What a mother you are and always will be

That’s my mother tell me about yours.

She taught me to speak to listening and be quite

She taught to humble myself when needed to be

She taught me to regard my body as a temple

She taught me to endure pain and hardship yet keep my dignity

Above all she taught me to fear the creator

She taught me not to consider who I am not, but who I am

She gave up her dream so that I could have one

She made sure we have what she couldn’t

She was all that and much more

I could not ask for a better mother

And I miss the chance to say thank you

    That’s my mother my heroin.

    Your Enemy

She comes in a subtle way

She is able to hide inside your heart

She is not always visible, though she is present

You can carry her with you all your life

She can make fun of you without your knowledge

    She praises herself in you

Fight her; fight her with all your strength

Don’t let her stay long, avoid her if you can

She comes to destroy, you must fight her

The striking thing about her is her ability to deceive you

She makes you believe that you are more that you truly are

She is not nor will ever be your friend she is costly to have around

She can make you smile while killing yourself

She makes you laugh at others instead of self

She is your enemy, she is your ignorance.

She will make you create the wrong perception of life

She will make you create the wrong impression of others

Give her no place of residency in your life

She makes you believe you’re wrong when right and vice verse

This enemy of yours makes you make a foul out of yourself

She intends to master you thoughts to dominate your actions

Fight her; you must fight your own ignorance

    Dark Prison

I am in pain inside this dark prison, can anyone help me?

I am thirsty, please give me water, and give me peace

I have no peace; I have no love no hope

I am in pain, does anyone care? Please help me

Please set me free I am desperate I am in pain.

Can anyone hear me? I am in deep pain I am suffering much

I thought I knew it, I thought I had seen, but I was wrong

I feel like I want to die but there is no death in here

I want peace but there is no peace, no hope for tomorrow

My soul is in constant torment, very troubled in much distress

Inside here I can only remember the chances I had, if I only knew it

I should have been much wiser, now it is just too late

There is no way out in this prison of fire, place of sorrow

Only pain and distress, no better days ahead, no way out

No hope for tomorrow, no better future ahead just the cries of my soul

The cries of the doomed the pains of my own soul and of others

I have been condemned to this everlasting punishment.

I have been here long enough but still no way out

I came here mainly all due to my own stubbornness of heart

Now I am lost forever, no way out.

    A Man’s Gift (His Talent)

Pay attention to me you gifted one

Be careful with me you gifted one

I am the reason they love you so much

The reason they celebrate you, the reason they admire you

I exalt you now and then; I make them love you so

I even make them let you get away with things it is all due to me

I make a man’s name bigger than him

But I know that whenever I want to, I bring him down

I am one of his main enemies I am his own gift

I can steal from him his character I can destroy him slowly

I bring with me fame and fortune, many unpleasant outcomes also

I bring pride also arrogance I take away simplicity from his heart

I make them celebrate me in you, not you
