    From Shepherd to King is the fourth book in The Crown Series, and it's all about David. Many of us know David as the teenager who slew the giant Goliath with a slingshot, and then went on to become the great King of Israel! But it’s his life in between these times when God deals with David that we begin to understand the man himself, and the beginning of the nation of Israel. And through David, we also learn the character of God and the value of having faith in Him.

    This book touches on the highlights of David’s life and tells of some specific events that helped to mold the Jewish nation. The story is taken from the book of 1 Samuel 8 and goes through to 2 Kings 2. You’ll be able to relate to David's feelings and his actions, and hopefully understand why you need faith in God, and how God will bring you through life’s trials when you know Him and trust Him, just as David did.

    The Crown Series is for readers of all ages who want to know God through the men and women of the Bible. It's based on Scripture and written in a storybook format so that it's easy and fun to read. It's great for children, new believers and anyone who wants to experience David’s challenges, joys, and sorrows, and learn why David was a man after God’s own heart! And just like the other books in this series, Grandpa is reading to his grandson who asks all the questions we'd want to ask.
