Upgrade Of Love
He almost had me right in the palm Of his hand
But in those last seconds of surrender I turned away from him
Something just didn’t sit right with me about him
He was like that
He could seduce me without touching
One darkly look filled with so much sugar
That I would become diabetic and dependent upon him
I never really liked playing games
But somehow I became a main character In this farce that he liked to call a relationship
I knew he could not fulfill me
That he was not the one to complete me
But the view from his eyes was the only thing That I wanted to see
He misled me without even trying
He enticed me into dying
And as I bled out my God-given light
He wrecked havoc in my life with tremendous might
No midnight dances were reserved anymore for me
My enslavement had begun so he left me with a dark destiny
He gave not a word of farewell or a sweet whisper goodnight
I was lost in confusion and in mistrust of the light
But from that very same light That I was told to run away from
I heard a warm voice beckon to me,
I can save your life...Come, child, come!
And as I walked away from my first love
And the memories of the great friends we had been
I rejoiced in the presence of my new love, Jesus
While leaving the embrace of my former partner, Sin...
Breaking Heart
My heart has been handled
By so many dirty hands
That even I don’t want to touch it
My faith in love has been tested
And I have never been introduced
To the teacher
But I know I want to fire them
For giving a pop quiz
When I couldn’t even understand
The study materials
So weary of falling prey
To the heart hunters out there
But I try so hard to pray
For disguise and protection
Without deluding myself and losing myself
Along the way
Sometimes I wish I could mail my heart away
To a far off place somewhere
To keep it from ever breaking again
Crowned Ones
A Crown symbolizes kingship, rulership, Royalty....
to rule over something or someone;
to Crown means to offer, to lift up....
Adam and Eve were offered a crown
but through a simple conversation, simple disobedience
their crown was stripped away and mankind's destiny
was changed forever...
No longer exalted Stewards or Kings of the earth,
we became disconnected, cut off from God's presence,
no longer sharing in HIS Divinity,
our life spans were shortened
until Jesus came and reminded us
that we were created in God's image
and that means we were created to Rule...
and we became the Crowned Ones
Many stumbling around under the weight
of depression and despair
but that's the crown
that they choose to wear
Disconnected, torn apart
from the Godhead three,
Lies and Deception blinding them,
Denying them the right to Eternity
HE was the Only One
who could take the Sting of Death
and the Grip of Sin,
face them down,
humiliatingly suffer and rise again
HE is worthy to wear the Crown of Heaven and Earth
In the end season, wintertime
the media crowns a heavyweight man
in a red and white suit with glory,
but we who know the world's True Story
know that Only One qualifies to wear the Crown...
HE wasn't given a physical symbol of power
while HE trod this dusty rock we call Earth
for those who recognized HIS Divinity,
they also could see HIS royalty
through the layers of flesh HE chose to wear...
HIS royal procession into the city was witnessed
by people of a common nature
and not the elite of high society...
Our humble Ruler riding on a common donkey
instead of a wealthy carriage fit for a king...
HE is nothing like any king before
or ever will be
HE doesn't need to come all Loud and Grand
with Pomp and Ceremony
or with extensive media coverage and radio time slots
this king moves quietly yet powerfully
in the hearts of those who allow HIM in...
HIS policies are implemented throughout the world
through HIS chosen people:
those who Crown HIM with devotion,
with praise, with obedience, with worship,
with honour and glory, with trust, with faith,
those who Crown HIM with Love...
