The Words - Sehloho Piet Rampai

    CHAPTER ONE

    A love requested

    A poem called for

    Of gyrating feelings

    And blushing faces

    Melting souls

    And racing hearts.

    A heart-adorned sky

    And pregnant overflowing

    Teary clouds of bliss

    Soul ironed by peace.

I found love in your ocular

    No need for binoculars

    I have finally found you

    The bone of my bones.

    A part of my destiny

    Cerebral epiphany

All my voices sing in harmony

    Dancing in elation.

    A ridiculous note

    I sit here

Alone to the company of my shadow

    Upon the wall

    Calling my name

A whisper of an ungrateful friend

    The tears creep

    The bones creek

    My stomach churns

    To a moment I scream

    And darkness yells

The cold feeling inside my soul

Wanting me to wake from the day dream I

    Fail to sleep

    The due of night

Makes the day of my sight

What to do to entertain myself

    Talk to me.

A wrath full of swords for the of the Lord

They say wow look at that loser,

They say hey there goes that goof.

They say anything that's hurtful as long as it's never the truth,

All day my ears filled with hatred

It comes from every known direction,

As I walk about no way blocking out the endless

    Hurtful words infection

Lord I cry out unto you,

You never showed me what to do.

I can't believe forgiveness by itself will be

    Enough to get me through.

For though as I volunteered for this at soul,

I wouldn't dare to see the weight

Of that this burden wouldn't be too great for

    Me alone to take.

From out the cosmic womb you formed me.

    In all your limitless perfection.

But Lord these last few years my endless tears

Fill up these pools for my reflection.

All day long pain I be

All day long pain I be

    My face slapped in shame

Failed I the test of poetry

    Rejected, dejected became symbolic.

The road to greatness is sham

    My poetry is mixed reaction

    Of joy in confusion

    Who shall rescue me?

Told I to do away with poetry

    But my heart speak poetry

Am broken in search of poetry

    Who shall find me?

    My poetry not mistake

    But a sweet cake

    I'll love poetry

    I'll eat poetry

    I'll speak poetry

    For the scripture is poetry.

    Always called incorrigible

    Always called incorrigible

    Rebellious of the core

    Only wanting to express herself

    Be free; nothing more.

    Wanting to be understood

    Needing to be loved,

    But never feeling wanted,

    Angry, when she was shoved

    Confusion birthed creativity

    Fluid with her tools

    Now a grown up woman

    Successful, wearing jewels

    Still a little rebellious

    Loves deep, no more blues

Thankful she chose her own path

    And told
