Chapter 1

Stacey rolled over in her bed throwing her arm over her eyes. It was days like this that she didn’t know why she even tried. She had been staying with her dad and his new girlfriend for only two days so that her older brother could finally make his move and claim the girl of his dreams, her best friend. Stacey laughed at the memory of the drunken night right before graduation with Danny had broken down and told his little sister, who had been teasing about not getting laid, about the one girl he had been waiting for. When Danny made his confession thinking his sister would be upset or even shocked, he was shocked to learn that Stacey had not only figured it out but she was rooting for him, so much so that she found a way to not be there when her best friend came to stay with her for the week.

Now if only her brother could get her friend over her fear of rejection then Stacey could go home. Of course getting Christy to see that what Danny saw in her was anything but a passing glance, would take the work of a saint and if it’s one thing that Danny is not, it’s a saint.
