    Dedication

This book is dedicated to God the Father, Jesus my Savior, and the Holy Spirit that has directed and guided me through the process. God, I thank you that you gave me the wisdom to seek deliverance for myself and for giving me the strength to share this testimony.

I also would like to thank my mother for being who she is in Christ and always believing in me. She never made me think that what I was experiencing was some crazy notion; instead, she took time to listen and was open to what I was experiencing. I know God knew just what He was doing when He made you my mother.

    Preface

Have you ever lost a loved one, and it caused you to turn away from God? Have you ever been so far out of God’s will that it seemed as if you would never get back into right relationship with Him? Have you been living in sin and felt like your life was spiraling out of control? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you have given place to the devil. When we live outside of God’s Will we allow the devil to come in and bring confusion, distraction, frustration, and all kinds of thoughts into minds. If you experience these thoughts frequently, you are experiencing mental torment. Other signs of mental torment include suicidal thoughts and thoughts of harming others.

Mental torment is a serious struggle for the saved and unsaved, because it is the most common attack of the enemy. If he can mess up your mind, he has you in a defeated position. My challenge to you is to get into right relationship with God so that the devil will not have any place. Ephesians 4:27 (KJV) says, Neither give place to the devil. To give the devil place is to give him an opportunity to come into your life, your home, your job, and so on. Do not forget that when you give him place in your life, he also gains access to your family. When we give place to the devil in our lives, we are essentially saying, Access granted. If you are living holy, the devil is trespassing, but if you are not living the righteous life God called you to live, the devil has a legal right to invade your life. If you do not change your lifestyle, you will remain in a defeated mind-set.

A defeated mind-set can lead you to the path of sheer destruction, because you have no foundation on which to stand in times of trouble. No foundation leads to faltering. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon (1 Corinthians 3:10 ([KJV]). We cannot build our spiritual houses on a rocky foundation. When you falter (has a rocky foundation) you are stumbling and wavering. The devil will see you wavering, he will see your uncertainty, and he will see your lack of faith. Where is your faith, my sister or brother? Why do you falter when life seems to weigh you down? I know that we have not yet arrived, but God wants us to gain total victory in this area. Difficult circumstances and trials in life will occur, but we must be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (1 Cor. 15:58 [KJV]). What I want to convey to you in this book is that you must always keep your eyes on God and never, ever, give
