About this ebook

Thought provoking, not daunting. Humorous, not obnoxious. Mr. Baird's incorrigible collection of excerpts stem from every walk of life, spoken with the true voice of reason. The most practical aspect of these musings is the hilarity behind them, reminding us to procrastinate, pray, dream, and realize.

    A Tribute to Motherhood

    (Dedicated to my mother,

    nee Sarah Elizabeth ‘Sweet’ Griffith)

I so often remember my Mother

Who taught us to love one another

Were it father, sister, or brother

    It always included all other

We were told of the ways we should share

While she tended our needs with such care

Now when Gabriel his last tone does blare

I’m sure that my Mom will be there

    One Thought for the Day

Why do we so worry and fret

When our time to expire is not yet

Why not smile and thus we’ll abet

All our good fortunes, ‘Lest we Forget’

    A Real Picker-Upper

If at times you are forlorn or weary

And your eyes may become a bit teary

One need not feel down-cast or dreary

Just go and see Harry O’Leary

(Our God also says ‘Not to Fear Ye’)

There is a Place where Love Dwells

There is a place where Love dwells

    Through-out our life-long days

The place where the Prince of Peace quells

    All of our fearful ways

There is a place where Love dwells

It was there right from the start

The place where only truth tells

    It’s deep within one’s heart

    The Big Q?

Do we willingly share of our love

Which is given from heaven above

Or do we need a reversal of heart

Ere our love we can freely impart
