Wrong Side of the Bed
Wrong side of the bed
Negative thoughts in my head
Cant shake em out
Make me feel like a ton of lead.
Sitting on the edge
All of this I dread
Cant move a muscle
Makes me feel almost dead.

Introduction
Are you searching endlessly for that evasive balance in your life? Is your Yin pulling at your Yang, or are they finally working together for a happy and harmonious balance for you? The Yin and Yang Theory is one of the main theories emphasizing Feng Shui. According to the Theory of Yin and Yang, everything in the universe consists of two opposing forces, yet they are deeply connected at a common place called harmony or balance.
The Yin energy is represented by the pessimistic side of life. Yin includes the black color, the darkness, the bad, the passive, the bitter, or anything that brings a negative energy; whereas the Yang energy is represented by the optimistic side of life. It includes the white color, the bright side, the good, the active, the sweet, and anything that brings a positive energy.
The Yin cannot exist without the Yang. The Yang cannot exist without the Yin. They cannot exist in isolation. The Yin and Yang have to coexist to bring balance, peace, and harmony or Feng Shui to your life. Our most obvious examples of Yin and Yang are in how we decorate and arrange our home, our work space, and our lives. We purposely choose opposites. We like the contrast; the dark against the light. We have a yearning for Yin and Yang to meet at the same place and at the same time thereby creating balance and harmony.
Thus, the poetic stories in this work attempt to present the Yin of life and the Yang of life. I have attempted to capture the ambiance of the current days and times. That is to reveal what humanity is going through, the Yin and the Yang.
As you read and enjoy these stories, look for the contrast, the opposites, yet the harmony and balance in each poetic story of the character’s life. Use the guiding questions at the end of each poetic story to promote Something to Think About and an insightful conversation. Then write Reflective Notes to express your thoughts.
Don’t let the yin of life outweigh your yang; keep a healthy balance.
