About this ebook

I started writing poetry as an outlet to the tragedies

that have occured in my life. I have survived

child abuse; physical, verbal, emotional abuse,

racism and discrimination for my sexuality. I have

overcome dark moments and have enjoyed happy

ones, and through it all I have had my eyes on

the prize. The goal has always been to share with

others my thoughts and feelings, no matter how

raw and uncensored they may be. I share my innermost demons because I

know that there are many others out there just like me. Women and children

with no voice, and with no choice. I write because it is natural to me. I write

because it is my choice. I write because I have found my voice.

Street Poetry is my first book of random poems I put together . . .

Some are close to my heart; others I have seen or experience over my 26 years of life, all realistically are a part of me and hopefully understandable and not offensive.

Due to the relationship I have with this book I have many people I would like to express my gratitude to. I am not a religious woman but I always felt there is a God and not the God some people portray Him to be. I believe in the God that lives in my heart and accepts me as his child and continues to bless me with every morning. Thank you God for the guardian angels.

I would like to thank my parents Miguel Padilla and Rosa Otero for creating me on that nasty night of tequila and coke LOL and even thoughneither one of you were perfect, your mistakes became my writings. Mommy ten years clean I’m proud of you and I love the both of you.

I would like to thank my nieces and nephews:Jay CJ, Alexie, Betina, Mikey, Zaida, Devin,Justin, Sierra, Natty and Savannah (my baby). You guys brought me so much laughter and pain over the years. You all already know Titi Mari will do anything for you all even if I have to fight, curse yell and be crazy; just ask your mothers and step parents (wink wink) LOL Titi is always here and you guys will always have a voice in me. I love you guys!

I would like to thank my stepson Derrick Pabon; even if you are not my child I love you as if you were my own and I am sorry for all those fight you had to see me and your mother go through hopefully one day you’ll see the sacrifices we did for you and you can stay the hell away from trouble. In my eyes you will always be that little boy I fell in love with.

I would like to thank all those people who came into my life briefly just to show me a good lesson, you know who you are.

I would love to give a big thanks to my true friends who has been there with me through thick and thin. Dee Dee and Roya aka Shei.Thank you guys for being there when I hit rock bottom and being able to tell me in my face Bitch what the hell!!

We been through a little bit of everything and we have never been friends, we have always been family. I will always be your platonic wife and I will always be your Puertorifer with my gaulaguala music LOL I love you both and Cynia!

To the only man I have ever loved Brandon Nye:

We have come a long way in this friendship Daddy, you are a good man and I am forever grateful for knowing you.You havebeen there for me through the worst times and the best times. Racism is not a part of our vocabulary, we fought for our friendship and it was worth it Daddy. Thank you for loving me like no man has ever before and make sure you teach that to Jaden. I love you Daddy forever!

To my grandmother Juana Miranda (buela) le doy gracias a Dios portuser parte de mi vidaporyoser parte de ti;teagradesco mi juventud, tuami me das felizidad. Teamovieja.Gracias Julio Padilla(buelo)porsermi padre y portodo los recuerdoslindoquetengo de joven. Lo amo a los dos.
