Interview Questions
Impression Questions: These questions typically wake up interviewers increasing their level of energy. If you have hired people in the past, you might have been guilty of asking the same comfortable questions over and over to expedite the interview process and get on with your work day. Impression questions break the monotony of the interview and force the employer or recruiter to focus on you.
Business Questions: Business questions are aimed at seeking information about the company and impact the interviewers. Five questions I like to ask are:

Special Thanks
I would like to thank everyone who helped turn my dream of writing a book into reality. Being dyslexic, I never thought I would ever write a book. Writing has always been my nemesis, one I have been aggressively fighting for the past 30 years.
This book would not have been possible without the brutal honesty of the countless job seekers, mentors and clients I have networked with on a daily basis over the past 17 years. I also would like to thank my wife, Kathy, and my parents for motivating me to do the most difficult thing first throughout my life. And finally, I would like to thank Andi for pushing me into action by proofreading this book with patience and thoughtful insight.
Thank you all for everything.
Joel
Dedication
Boundaryless people, excited by speed and inspired by stretch dreams, have an absolutely infinite capacity to improve everything.
From the Files of Jack Welch © 2003 by The McGraw-Hill Companies Inc,
I am dedicating this life changing guide to all the boundaryless
job seekers who feel trapped in the tradition of waiting for opportunities. I have helped network thousands of people for the last 17 years. I am confident that by using the tips and tools presented in this book you will be able to liberate yourself from your job search and take control of your network. Your network will not only uncover opportunities for you and others, but give you the confidence that you need to surpass any peak or valley during the job search process.
The premise of this information is to help you create a career plan and avoid major pitfalls or common areas of challenge. I will share tips and techniques to enhance your resume. I will also examine how prepare for the job interview, build a sustainable network and socially engineer networking encounters that will help you break through the walls of the job black hole.
You will see that (second to effort) your state of mind is the most important element throughout this journey. When you start reading this guide, you will have begun the journey of running yourself like your own business. This guide will give you actionable practices that will help you shape your future — your future of independence.
We have learned from this recession that you can no longer be caught off guard. We all have families, bills to pay and other obligations. As a result, I refuse to (not be) prepared; especially knowing that I can lose my job at any time. It is my hope that through the tips and techniques presented in this book, I can help you also be prepared, and never be caught off guard.
I remember clearly the first time I got laid off. This one crucial moment started my personal journey to find the best method to help me save time, and grow a sustainable network that could help me in my job search. I knew that establishing an effective network could proactively and selfishly create my pipeline of opportunities. More important, I could use my network to not be selfish, and pay it forward.
Helping others is extremely important. Many use social networking
