About this ebook
The author having been through all kinds of abuse, she writes of how she prayed
every day and is very thankful to God as he helped her to get away from her abusive husband.
It took time but it was in Gods time. The author has many blessings and is thankful
for each and every one of them. She writes of her thankfulness to God for each new day.
She thanks God for giving her the pen to write about her abuse so as to help others to
see that God will help them get away from abuse.
The author also writes birthday poems, poems for her children and for her Starlite Caf family and friends. She also has written for anyone who needs prayers.
This author loves life and hopes all who read her book will come away feeling blessed and free of domestic abuse.
Mary M. Lykin
Mary M. Lykins was born May 14, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved around a lot and went to many different schools. She went through abuse and was raped at age sixteen. She was married in August 1965 and this was when her abuse began. She went through abuse for 41 years of her marriage. She finally got a divorce in December 2006. Even with all the abuse she was blessed with seven children. She also had a set of twins that were called to heaven at birth. She has 17 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She became a Christian and was saved in 1998. She holds on to her faith through all things. She has always loved to draw but in 2000 she started writing poetry. Praying, drawing and writing poetry helps with getting through all her abuse.

FOREWARD
I would like to dedicate this book to all my family and friends at The Starlite Café and to my Adopted Mom, Aliceanne and Dad, George who have supported me from day one. Also to my first counselor, Lex who counseled me for ten years and my special friend, Earl who has counseled me and always seen that I had additional counseling throughout all my abuse.

Inspirational Poems
missing image fileGod’s Coloring Book
Sometimes as I sit and look
How the world is like God’s coloring book.
The sky He colors blue or gray,
Brownish yellow he colors the hay.
The grass he colors green,
Just the right colors it seems.
Leaves he paints yellow, red and brown
As they fall to the ground.
The snow so pretty and white
Are like dark gray clouds at night.
Many beautiful different colors of flowers
For God holds all power.
He colors every flower, every leaf and weed
A box of crayons or paint they don’t need.
He colors every thing just right
Some He colors dark and some light.
Some purple, red, yellow and some blue
A rainbow He makes for me and you.
Flowers We Will Pick Some Day
Flowers we will pick some day
For the Masters bouquet.
When our battle on earth is done
We will be the ones
To walk on roads of gold
Carry no more heavy loads
We will never get raped or beat again
Someday our battles on earth we will win.
Flowers we will pick some day
For the Masters bouquet.
We will sit by Jesus side
No more dark secrets to hide
We will be happy in Paradise
Every one will be so nice
No more being called bad names
No one playing mean abused games.
Flowers we will pick some day
For the Masters bouquet
Plenty of love there will be
For everyone, even for me.
No more fear
No reasons for tears.
Because Jesus Died and Now Lives
Every Eye Shall See Him
He wants our hearts to hold him within
Everyone eye shall see Him.
The Lord is the only one
He made the stars the moon and the sun
He made the water he made the sky the ground,
He made everything just look around
He made the people, He made the flowers.
Yes the Lord holds all powers
He made the leaves he made the tree’s
He made the world for all to be
He wants our hearts to hold him within
Every eye shall see him.
As you start each day
Take a minute to pray
Turn to the Lord he is always there
Even when we have too much to bear
When we’re down and blue
Remember the Lord helps us all through
He loves us all
Big or small
He wants our hearts to hold him within
Every eye shall see Him.
Footsteps in the Sand
God gave us a choice you see
A choice He gave to you and to me
To live for him
Or live in sin.
He carries us when we fall
He is there for us all
When you feeling blue
He will help you through
His footsteps in the sand you might see
For you, there He will be.
God wants to come into your heart
Then He will never part.
God wants us to share his word of love
To join him someday in Heaven above
No matter who you are God loves you
With a love forever true.
If you don’t God turn to him today,
He will hear as you pray
His footsteps in the sand you might see
For there He will always be.
He will never turn from you; please don’t run from him,
In your Hear let him Enter In.
We All Are Made from Gods Loving Hands
We all are made from Gods loving hands
Don’t matter if we are black, white, yellow or tan
He made us from clay
He made us in His way.
So why can’t we be?
A loving family
Why do we have hate?
Why so much heartache?
Why can’t we all love God above?
Share all his love.
It is day some places and other places night
Why with each other do we fight?
We all are made from Gods loving hands
Don’t matter if we are black, white, yellow or tan.
We are all sisters and brother,
God wants us to love each other.
Why is there so much abuse, so much rape and pain?
Living life for God is so much to gain.
Why so many killings and doing so much wrong?
God helps us all to be strong.
So many children killing, children no play
Many children not learning about God or to live His way.
Many turn and hide the truth deep down
Pretend God isn’t around.
We are all made from Gods loving hands,
Don’t matter if we are black, white, yellow or tan.
National Day of Prayer
National Day of Prayer,
Let’s all reach out everywhere.
Let’s all in our own way,
Turn to the Lord and pray.
Dear Lord please we need you back in our schools,
We need to teach to all the Golden Rule.
We need protection over the one’s in the military,
Fighting for our country to be free.
We need to stop abuse especially child abuse, we need more laws,
Dear Lord for our Nation upon your Holy Name I call.
Many children are homeless and starving out of a garbage can,
Dear Lord we all need your loving hand.
Many babies are being born and then thrown away,
Dear Lord we need you in our lives night and day
So many killings children too,
Dear Lord our Nation needs you.
Candles are lit all over the world,
So many lost boys and girls.
National Day of Prayer
Let’s all reach out everywhere.
We need to read the Bible everyday,
We all need to pray in our own way.
Our Nation is falling in two,
Dear Lord we all need you.
Dear Lord we all need you
Together we will stand tall
Without the Lord our Nation will fall.
Do You Know His Story?
Do you know his story?
Have you ever thought he might give God all the glory?
For finding food in a garbage can
Do you know the story behind that homeless man?
Maybe he was your neighbor at one time
Maybe he always walked a straight line.
One day an accident might have happened to him,
He might have tried but can’t find a job again.
A homeless man might be
A man who in God he believes
He has no where to sleep
Out in the cold he just weeps.
Do you know the story?
Have you ever thought he might give God all the glory?
He might look like a bum,
You turn your head and run.
He asks for a dollar or two
What do you do?
In your heart you want to help but thoughts come
Can you trust him some?
You wonder why can’t he work why is he begging strangers,
Did you ever think that homeless man could be an Angel?
Why Must Someone Suffer?
Why must someone suffer we wonder,
Family members hearts just tremble
When someone close to us is very ill
We don’t understand God’s will.
It breaks our hearts to sit by and do nothing at all,
Makes us want to hit our head against a wall.
We don’t understand why it
