About this ebook

This gift book of poetry is a collection of "pearls" of God's truths and promises. These poems and prayers were written in Janet's journal during her quiet times with God each morning. As she read and meditated on various scriptures from the bible, she was inspired to write about joy, hope, comfort, and thanksgiving. God spoke to her heart through His written word, and she wishes to speak to the reader's heart of her Heavenly Father's love for all.

Pearls of God's Promises - Janet R. Newbill

    Contents

    Our Family’s Prayer

    Acknowledgments

    Our Family’s Prayer

    Lord, we’re not asking you

    To return our little boy.

We’re only asking this of you,

To restore our peace and joy.

Walker is holding hands right now

    With those we’ve loved before.

And we’ll all join hands with them some day

When we walk through Heaven’s door.

    Lord, we’re not asking you

For his hand to be released,

    We’re only asking you today

For your awesome strength and peace.

    Walker George Coffey

    Acknowledgments

I want to say thank you to my writing assistant, Gloria Templet, who made up for my computer illiteracy. You are truly a Godsend.

To my family, which is my inspiration. Thank you to my grandchildren, Wyatt, Hollis Ann, Mary Raine, Eason, and little baby Joy, for teaching me so much about love.

And to my husband, George, whose faith has strengthened mine.

But, most of all thank you to my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ

For the word of the Lord is upright and all His work is done in faithfulness. Psalm 33:4 NASB

Dear God, thank you for giving me a fresh start each day. Please help me to be a blessing to others. Amen.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Every day is a brand new day

It’s fresh as a brand new slate,

Please renew my mind and make my heart soft

And remove all resentment and hate.

I’m grateful You gave me another day

A blessing, I so want to be,

Please guide me and guard me in all that I do

So others will see You in me.

Your words give me wisdom, and pearls of truth

They gently rebuke me, when wrong,

I search for Your truth and guidance each day

As I trust in You all day long.

For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. Psalm 27:5

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for being my rock
