This gift book of poetry is a collection of "pearls" of God's truths and promises. These poems and prayers were written in Janet's journal during her quiet times with God each morning. As she read and meditated on various scriptures from the bible, she was inspired to write about joy, hope, comfort, and thanksgiving. Janet is a wife, mom, and "Gigi" to her grandchildren. She lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and enjoys leading weekly devotionals at a local nursing home. Lord, we’re not asking you

To return our little boy.

We’re only asking this of you,

To restore our peace and joy.

When we walk through Heaven’s door.

Every day is a brand new day

It’s fresh as a brand new slate,

Please renew my mind and make my heart soft

And remove all resentment and hate.

I’m grateful You gave me another day

A blessing, I so want to be,

Please guide me and guard me in all that I do

So others will see You in me.

Your words give me wisdom, and pearls of truth

They gently rebuke me, when wrong,

I search for Your truth and guidance each day

As I trust in You all day long.

For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. Psalm 27:5
