About this ebook
John N Garns
Born in the late fifties, John was raised in Elizabethtown, PA with an older brother and younger sister. It wasn’t until he gave his life to the Lord in the summer of 1977, that he found his poetic voice. When he got saved he took another poem he wrote before his introduction to Christ and turned it into a Christian poem. After that God just gave him the ability to write. After 40 years he has written about 75 or more poems most of which are embodied in this book. John Currently lives in Mt. Joy, PA with his wife of 14 years and his beloved dog, Lucy.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for giving me the gift to write. I thank Him also for all the experiences in life that have helped me grow in His grace. Without Him I would truly be nothing!
I would like to thank my wife, Rhonda, for her help in typing most of the poems and for her love and undying support with this book.
I would like to thank all my friends and family for their support and encouragement of this book. It has been quite an undertaking and their support meant the world to me.
THERE WAS A MAN
There was a man who lived on earth long ago
Sent from Heaven, a place I do not know
Some people think He’s a crazy fool
But I think He’s pretty cool
Christ, Jesus Christ, the Son of God
Could cure a man with just one nod
Bless my soul, Oh Lord I pray
Keep me safe through night and day
When He walked into my life, my dreams became reality
Yes, he is very real, not fantasy
Be with me, Lord and we’ll make it together
Stay with me, Lord Jeus, forever and ever
Satan waked into my life so easily, now I want him to go
He said he loved me and really put on a show
Satan, leave me now, open the door and go
Just go through the door and let Jesus’ love flow
THEREWASAMAN.jpg~~JOHN 1:14~~
The Word was made flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
~~JOHN 20:30-31~~
Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and by believing you have life in His name.
THE MAN CALLED CHRIST
Down in the valley where all the people dwell
There lived a man everybody knew well
This man claimed to be the Son of God
He was just a carpenter—isn’t that odd?
This man could change water into wine
And walk across the water at the same time
He could make a blind man see
And make a cripple walk easily
Was this man an alien being from outer space?
Or was he Satan from the deep, fiery place?
Could He have been the Son of God?
Or was he just a nobod’?
Well, the people of Israel made him their king
They called him Lord; such a silly thing
He gained the title, King of the Jews
He was a great man who taught us the Good News
This man was the Son of God
He was more than a carpenter—is that so odd?
This man’s name was Jesus, Christ our Lord
If you could have heard Him speak you wouldn’t have been bored
THEMANCALLEDCHRIST.jpgJohn 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Acts 10:36
You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
Matthew 6:15-17
‘ But what about you’ He asked, ‘who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.’
CHRIST MEANS SO MUCH TO ME
Christ means so much to me
I am forgiven—I no longer have to flee
I know that Christ has risen
And His love holds me like a prison
