Life's roller coaster of circumstances will occur but even when you hit your lowest point or land on a plateau, you can bounce back harder with your inner resilience and tenacity to repel using your mental elasticity and the will to prevail.

Dream on with a passion, embrace changes and welcome challenges. Gird your mind with wisdom, touch your heart with self-love and journey beyond your horizon. Realize that heights of accomplishments are infinite, keep climbing, and progressing until your journey ends. Fear hinders progress; therefore, step with onto your stumbling blocks faith not fear and make them stepping stones.

There is a feeling that as a poet Sherron wants to inspire us to reflect on our lives. She also seems to want us to discover the true meaning of our passage through this life. There is no doubt that they are "enlightening and purposeful poems that intend to captivate and inspire" and that is what they certainly do.

Sherron M. Thomas

Originally, I am from a tropical Caribbean island; Tortola, one of the main archipelagos among several other islands and cays in The British Virgin Islands. It is basked with inviting appeals and lets anyone feel an appreciation for its incredible appearance; to feel appeased and carefree. I graduated with top honors with a BA in Accounting from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico in June 2005. Currently, I live in Savannah, GA, a city that exists near the Intracoastal water with many Historical points of interest and now serve honorably in the US Army. To me writing is an art of the mind and the way it thinks; a process that takes on various forms of delicate expression. The nature of our thoughts is phenomenal. What we are capable of accomplishing starts with our mind. How we use our efforts effectively to be successful is through a creative function of how our mind works. The mind fuels every aspect of our lives with its unique modules that organize how we act and interact with the world. We are endeared to think freely, if that maybe the only place we can encounter true freedom. It is the whimsical song on my heart that allows me to write poems freely about what I feel and how my mind decides to flow. When I capture moments, I try to treasure some in written verses. I believe each person holds a treasure throve of thoughts that can be manifested within certain moments. I became passionate about writing poetry towards the end of my secondary school year and received inspiration from reading great works from famous poets and authors. As I started, most of my work was simply of my mind in search of solace and forming identity with self. My parents, Ellis and Dorothy Thomas were the most influential persons towards me in my writing process and often listened with an intent thirst. I soon realized that not only did my parents appreciate my poems but also other members of my family, and I was requested to write for different occasions. My words are written from my heart; as I close my eyes, it seems as though my thoughts sail with me into a peaceful sphere. My thought pattern runs deep. Sometimes they tango loosely as they dance with the words in a mellow gesture that brings a sense of satisfaction and comfort. I am usually taken out of a disheartening moment to one that brings content.

At certain times these poems will lift your spirits, and at other moments they will help you get through rough times in your life. Yet, there will be other times when you will just want to read several of Sherron’s poems because you know they will make you smile. As the poet expresses in her prologue, when reading her poetry, life’s journey will become less painful, circumstances [will be] more tolerable and [you will know that you] can move into a better self while accepting [your] faults and failures as temporary alternatives [that will help you] to uncover successful avenues.

When you read Sherron’s poetry, you will easily sense her great faith in God. Probably this has been her source of inspiration for the whole book. One of the first poems that you will first read in this book, A Determined Spirit is a good example of her love of God. Yet, she does not stop there. Her great faith and great love of the Lord certainly motivated her to invite us to do the same, and the last line of this poem truly reflects this:
