Sanctuary’s Saviors

My name is Aurora Sonnen Hell. I am the Goddess of Life, Queen of Grace and Ruler of all things Light. My twin sister is Hekate Nacht Hell. She is the Goddess of Death, Queen of Destruction and Chaos and Ruler of all things Dark. Together we make up two-fifths of the Promised Children Prophecy. What does this mean? The Oracles of Fate proclaimed a prophecy that four children of the highest-ranking gods and goddesses, along with a Protector born from parents of three species, God/Goddess, Humans and Angel, would band together to defeat evil and keep peace throughout the territories of Sanctuary. Sanctuary is our home, our realm of protection from the Humans and darkest of tyrants. Being the Promised Child of the Heavens, I am one of the most powerful fledglings our world has ever seen. Beside me on the side of the Light stands Eros, my soul-half who is bound to me by magic and eternal love, and Enon, our strongest Protector of young gods living in the Mortal Realm. Supporting us from the dark side is Hekate and her soul-half Andrell.

Aura, are you ready yet? It’s almost time for our crowning!

My sister’s voice rang through my room like icicles crashing to the ground. As I came back to the present I checked myself in the mirror.

You don’t have to stay out there you know. I’m decent, so come in already, but leave the guys in the hall, I called out, my voicing chiming like the bells on a baby’s rattle.

As I spun around only the sound of mine and Hekate’s dresses rustling against the marble floor could be heard as she strode across the room. Standing beside me, she stared at the mirror, looking us up and down, and let out a rare and carefree laugh.

What’s so funny? I asked.

Oh nothing, nothing at all. Well, okay, you looked scared and are so not ready to go out there yet. You may be dressed, but your hair is not done, and you are exhausted. When’s the last time you actually went into the sun?

Did I mention that I can pull energy from the sun?

Yesterday when I was with you and everyone else while at the training arena. I just didn’t sleep much last night. Too many thoughts just running through my mind.

All right, that explains it. Here take my hands.

I looked down at her hands then back at her face and she heaved a sigh.

Either I help you regain your energy or Eros comes in and does it. I’m sure he’ll give you hell for not taking care of yourself. Take your pick sister dear.

Okay fine! I said as I took hold of her hands.

Instantly I could feel a rush of power and strength pouring into my body. Hekate may have magic and power of the Dark, but she does have the ability to turn it into energy that the Light can use. In a matter of seconds, I felt better and had regained my energy.

Thank you, my sister, I said.
