About this ebook

What was happening to me?
I should know better. I’m a journalist. I stay detached and impartial. I don’t get close to the subject. I’m a professional.
Or I was, until I met Jace Harrison.
The handsome, powerful CEO of Harrison Industries was notoriously difficult to interview. I was ready to pull his secrets out of him. But instead, he uncovered one of mine.
How far will he push me? How far will I let myself go? And will I be able to stop- or will I even want to?

As I walked up the marble steps to Jace Harrison's mansion, I knew my life was about to change. But I never could have guessed exactly how.
Jace Harrison was the fabulously wealthy, incredibly handsome billionaire playboy owner of Harrison Hardline International, a private resources company in the Fortune 100. Harrison himself was notoriously private, almost reclusive and seemingly did nothing but work. He was known for being straight-laced to a fault and extremely conservative in his personal life, what little people knew of it, anyway. But I was out to find the real Jace Harrison, and when I found him, my life would transform.
Or I hoped it would, anyway. As a fledgling ghostwriter, I'd been thrilled to get a chance to meet with one of the most wealthy, interesting men of his day. Harrison had completely revolutionized his company's most valued process, saving the company untold millions and making them billions more. He wasn't just a lazy CEO with a big office- he understood the ins and outs of both the business and the people of his company, and could coax the best performances out of both. All the big magazines had profiled Harrison and his company, but none of them were able to get much personal information on the man, so his magazine and newspaper profiles always focused on his company's work, which was seemingly the way he liked it.
And that was the reason I was walking up the steps of his mansion that day- I was there to interview him as a ghostwriter for his first autobiographical article. I'd been warned by the Chairman of the Board of his company that Harrison was notoriously tight-lipped, and that I shouldn't expect to get much out of him. That was the whole reason the Board suggested this project- the company had just been through a hostile takeover of another company in the same sector, and the press regarding the takeover was decidedly hostile as well. The Board was worried that bad press coupled with the fact that there was very little information on Harrison in the public eye would lead the public to have a bad opinion of him. They wanted to get out in front of the news of the resolution of the takeover with a fluffy feelgood piece on their CEO. Show
