Koi Nutrition
Yes, You Can Feed Your Koi Commercial Food. But in Order to Discover Which Type of Commercial Diet is Best for Your Koi, You May Want to Know a Little More About Your Koi's Nutritional Needs.
The Koi Fish, like Every Other Living Thing, has its Own Unique Dietary Needs. But While its Needs May Be Unique, We Will Discuss Them in Terms That Can Be Easily Understood.
The Koi Body Requires All the Same Nutrient Groups that Your Body Craves and Needs for Healthy Functioning. Namely:
Proteins
The Younger the Koi, the More Protein the Koi Fish Needs. This is the Rule of Thumb to Follow.

That Does Not Mean You Should Withhold Protein Altogether from Your Koi Fish. Never Allow Your Koi Fish Protein Consumption to Drop Below 28% of its Total Diet. This Results in a Deficiency.

As a Koi Fish Owner, You Need to Walk a Fine Tightrope When It Comes to Feeding Your Koi Fish Fats. If You give Your Koi Fish Too Many Foods Rich in Saturated Fat, like Pork, Beef or Even Poultry, You Not Helping
