Ethan King rubbed a hand over his sweat-beaded brow. All that did was remind him that his headache was getting worse, and to top it all off, he was going to be late for his meeting. His appointment with the ax man. Putting it bluntly, he was probably going to get fired.

His gut churned. What a helluva day this threatened to be.

But as hot and sticky as he was, and as late as he expected to be, this diner felt like the last link to the world he knew.

Basically, he felt like crap. The chick he’d dated last night turned out to be a complete waste of time. She kept telling him to keep his hands to himself every time he tried to grope her tits. Told him to stop breathing in her ear. And worst of all, he’d had to keep his dick in his pants because she didn’t want to fuck. Hell, he’d been so damned horny. Still was, which didn’t help his mood.

When he finally got home after the disaster of a date, he found a message on his answer phone saying he had to be at the office the next day to meet the new boss. What was his name? Carter?
