To conquer without firing a single shot… Absurd? Unrealistic? Too much imagination? Our main character thought so, too, until he met Him…

Foreword
Dear reader,
Most people have read many books. Some books filled us with enthusiasm, others with fascination, joy or sadness, but I am sure each book changed something in us, be it a tiny influence or a cardinal life-altering impact that changed our present and our future.
I have read many books in my life. It was one of my favorite things to do in childhood. While reading I had a feeling that the things I read fell somewhere and stacked there. I really wished I could implement some of the stories in my own life. There were hooks I read 5 times in a row, as the path of the mam character fascinated me and I wanted to follow it again and again.
All the authors of the small book in front of you wanted to share something that left a trace in their fives after they met a Scandinavian guy, who was changed, just like I was, by one supernatural BOOK. The name of this unique, wonderful, miraculous and living book is the Bible!
Looking into the past, studying history and learning about the great people who changed the world, we admire their lives and sometimes even set them up as examples. Yet we do not always fully appreciate the wise words, The end of a matter is better than its beginning.
Let me tell or remind you a little bit about some people who left a footprint in history.
For instance, the goal of George Eastman was to gain financial success. He attained it! And then some. Nowadays in photography-related stores all over the world one can find a wide variety of photography and optical equipment produced by Eastman Kodak. George Eastman was an American of Scandinavian origin, who came up with the idea of You press the button, we do the rest.
This idea transformed a poor man into a successful, wealthy and financially influential person. At that time his net profit exceeded 370 million dollar’s. His company employed 120 thousand workers. He had a huge 30-room mansion. His meals were accompanied by organ music. He was able to afford it, but he was an unhappy person. Although he managed to achieve the goals he set, he still was not satisfied. One day after a meeting with business partners, he went to his room and wrote such words, My work is done. Why wait?
Then he took a gun and shot himself.
If your goal in life is fame and beauty and if you are dazzled with those things, let us recall American movie star Marylin Monroe. On August 5, 1962 the newspapers all over the world announced that she was gone. The actress took a large dose of narcotics and died. She was beautiful and famous, she was friends with very influential people of the time, but she was lonely and felt really unhappy, which is confirmed by her records.
Ernest Hemingway is a great writer. His books captivated many a reader. He was a Nobel prize laureate, a novelist who wrote about cruelty and death. One Sunday he took his own life by shooting himself with a 12 gauge shotgun. One thing is clear: a person may be very talented, smart, charismatic, a hero of one's time, yet very unhappy nevertheless.
Charles Swab, the steel magnate. Samuel Insull, the president of the largest utility corporation in the world. Richard Whitney, the president of the New York Stock Exchange. Albert Fall, the member of the US President’s Cabinet. Ivar Kreuger and Leon Fraser - heads of the world largest investment company, largest monopoly and an international investment bank. Edwin Armstrong, Arthur Chevrolet, Lester Hunt...
I could go on with the list of famous people. What happened to all those people, who reached such heights in this world, achieved success, fame, reputation and popularity at their time and beyond? Some of them went bankrupt, some had to flee the country in disgrace to avoid the creditors and the authorities, some were imprisoned and w ere only released to die peacefully at home, some committed suicide.
These people achieved the peaks of their dreams and goals. The whole world was at their feet. Yet, something happened, something went wrong, they got disillusioned and everything tumbled down. So what is the price of success? How much does a victory cost? I'm sorry, but is this really a true victory or success?
Dr. Charles Malik, Lebanese state official, who once presided over the session of the United Nations General Assembly, said:
Success is seeking, knowing, loving and obeying God. If you seek, you will know; if you know, you will love; if you love, you will obey.
From God's point of view success, prosperity, and wealth are something different from material well-being. The Bible contains the words, with which Jesus showed His opinion on these things: What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
(Mark 8:36-37)
The person this book is about went along with Jesus’ words, he set different goals, decided to see other horizons and peaks and is applying himself to achieve them. Even without millions to one's name, without world fame, without inventing a perpetual motion machine, without being the sharpest tool in the shed, by simply doing something one can achieve a lot more than the above-mentioned people and have a very different life’s end. One can be happy and secure in the knowledge of going in the right direction, being obedient and faithful to God, being a soldier without a rifle in the army of Jesus Christ, whose banner is love! One can conquer the world with love, without firing a single shot.
Dear reader,
Ask yourself: What is the purpose of my life? What directs my life? What goals do I have? Do my relations with Jesus have the nature He would like them to have? Am I happy? What do I personally consider happiness?
It is never too late to change the direction of one's life. Some people do ah they can to survive, some people do all they can to achieve success, but others achieve significance by coming to God. Your life is worth living. You too can become a hero, i.e. a person who changes the world, and that without firing a single shot.

Early in life, when I was still a boy, I found out what it was like to live without a father. I was 12, when he died. My father was a special person in my life. I always wanted to be like him - God-fearing, strong, wise, generous and very kind. My mother did all her best to be by my side, I always felt her care and support. Each day of my life I could hear my mama pray for me, my brothers and my sisters. There are eight of us in the family: three brothers and five sisters. Time flew by extremely fast. As a schoolboy I also attended music school and got a music education specializing in the violin and the piano. Then there was the university, the military service, many worries and anxieties, many dreams about the future life, about my fate, about a person very dear to me, who occupied an important place in my heart, the person I was ready to sacrifice everything, even my life for - my future wife Yuba. We have been together for 23 years now. We have a wonderful and friendly family: two daughters - Aurika, Karolina - and son Thomas. All sorts of moments are in the past now.
Like many of you, dear readers, I have experienced sadness and happiness, troubles and worries. But that is a different story, and each of ns could write a whole book about one’s own life. I am extremely grateful to my parents for my coming into this world. I know it might not have happened, because the doctors insisted that my mother had an abortion, as her life was in danger. I was the eighth child she was carrying, yet she did not do that and gave life to me. I was born a healthy boy and I am infinitely grateful to her for this. I am very happy to have been bom and raised in a Christian family! In the family where I first met Jesus, where the Lord was loved, where I got the most important tiling a person can get on this Earth - the knowledge about Him, the love of God, reverence to and understanding of Him, the acceptance of Him as a Father, as a Friend, as the foundation for my whole future fife. Yet, the book is not about me or my family, although as a son I could write a lot more about my parents, especially about my mother. I was left fatherless early in life, as he went to meet the Lord quite prematurely. My mother never spared herself and spent a lot of time bringing me up and fostering my development. She did so much for me in my fife that I know there is no way I can ever repay my mother as much as she deserves. I keep asking the Lord to give her a special reward for her doing a mother’s job, the job she has been and still is giving her absolute 100%, even though she is 86 now...
This book is about a person through whom God changed our lives and fates. Meeting him was a gift from God Who caused this meeting to change so much in our lives. Remembering the meeting and analyzing our joint projects, actions and conversations, I'd like to inspire you, dear readers, with this story about the life of a man, who was, is and continues to be faithful to God, faithful in his actions and deeds, faithful to the
