DEDICATED TO NYOMI
My Nyomi, it is how I think of you when I say your name.
Mine! Being with you is like being with myself at your age.
A little naughty, full of imagination,
and giving every moment your full attention.
When you look at others they get a feeling they are being seen
for the first time, something that will go a long way in the future.
So many humans have a need for connection,
and that is a gift you have, the ability to connect with others.
You are always in my heart and on my mind.

About the Author
CHAPTER ONE
The Reunion
Nyomi sat next to the large pipe that ran from the huge cave, into the lab concealed in the boathouse. The cave was at the bottom of a steep slope, a part of her Great Aunt Diane’s orchard.
After last summer’s surprise, Nyomi, her brother Wyatt, and all her cousins could hardly wait until this summer. Nyomi, Wyatt, Sophia, and Jack lived in Sherwood Park, Alberta, while Kadence, Cash, and Cruse lived in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, a few miles from their grandmother’s award-winning orchard.
It had been a close call. The town folk and other orchard owners always wanted to know the secret of Diane’s immense growing power. Her cherries were the size of a small plumb, a small plum was the size of a large apple, and the apples were so big you could make a whole pie from just one. Nyomi could not believe Diane had been able to keep her secret for so long.
However, last summer had turned dangerous. Nyomi and Wyatt along with all their cousins were almost killed – and all for the secret of Diane’s amazing growing skill. A full year later, at thirteen, Nyomi understood so much more about why Diane kept her secret for so long. The secret was all about poop – worm poop – and Ogopogo was the biggest worm in the lake. Diane made fertilizer from the rich droppings from Ogopogo and his family. The serpent had been seen in the lake for thousands of years, first by the natives, then
